Review: Nivea Micellar Cleansing Water

It seems as if very high street brand is releasing Micellar Waters lately and Nivea is no different. I like to try them all in hopes that they will be similar or a dupe for Bioderma as I can't justify £10 on one bottle. This 200ml bottle retails for around the £4 mark however I picked it up for £1.99 in Tesco! This water also states that it is free of parabens, colours and perfumes.

Nivea Micellar Cleansing Water
I really like the packaging of this as you actually have to squeeze the water onto a cotton pad to get it out which is great as you will waste minimal product. With the bottle being clear you are able to see how much product you have left before you run out which is always a plus.

The product claims to be sensitive which is the main reason why I purchased it. I have been having really trouble with my skin lately and it reacts to quite a lot of skin care products so I have trying to be careful. Not only did this sting my eyes so badly when I was trying to remove my eye make up, I am almost positive that this has broke me out which sucks. I'm almost 100% sure it was this product that broke me out as I have changed anything else in my make up or skin care in the past month so if your prone to break outs this isn't for you.

Although it does do an excellent job at removing all traces of make up, it does leave behind a slight residue making my skin feel oily so I always had to cleanse after using this. On the back of the bottle is actually says 'no need to rinse' which in my case was a completely false claim. If the water hadn't broke me out, I could have dealt with the slight sting in my eyes and the residue but all three together have really put me off.

This product really wasn't for me and sadly I wouldn't recommend it even though it did remove my make up really well. I will still use up the bottle by getting rid of make up swatches on my hands etc but I will defiantly not repurchasing and I'm glad I only paid £1.99 for it as it wasn't too much of a waste of money. I will defiantly be sticking to my beloved Garnier Micellar Water until I find one that tops how much I love that one.

Have you tried this? Did you like it?
