REVIEW | Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet

I had been undecided as whether I needed another lip product but after reading quite a few different reviews of them, it was decided I needed to get one! I had been in to Superdrug a couple of times and just had no idea what shade to get but swatched a few and was extremely impressed that the swatch was still there hours later. I love Gabriella from VelvetGh0st and saw she did a post of them and I then knew which shade I needed to get my hands on!

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet
I went for the shade Ole Flamingo which is a stunning bright pink. This product is complete matte so if you aren't a fan of matte lips, I would pass on this one. I personally really like the matte lip look, especially for brights. I expected this to be a little on the heavier side but it is extremely lightweight but at the same time is very pigmented. I really love how pigmented this is, which I really wasn't expecting, you can just apply one coat and your good to go with a bold lip. This is one of those lip products that you can apply before you go out for the day and completely forget about it, its not going to go anywhere!

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet
With some matte stains, I find that they completely dry out my lips and they end up looking horrible at the end of the day but with this it was completely different. This sat really nicely on my lips and didn't stink into all of the lines or bleed outside of my lips towards of the end of the night. It really does feel like velvet on the lips - perfect! With the applicator being on the smaller side, I found it really easy to apply and make my lips look perfectly bold. It doesn't dry straight away so if you do make a small mistake you can quickly correct it before it sets.

This is an extremely long lasting product. I put this one before going out for dinner on holiday and was worried that this was going to come off leaving a weird line around my lips or completely fade but I didn't have those products at all! I was eating and drinking all night and only the tiniest amount had faded by the time I had gone home. I was SO impressed!
