I have been slowly using all of my new nail polishes that I got for Christmas so I thought I would do another review today. This time I am talking all about the Barry M Glitterati Nail Polish in Rockstar. I have been eyeing this shade since it was released and I am really surprised that I didn't buy it before Christmas because it is gorgeous.
This is the shade Rockstar which is the darkest shade out of the six Glitterati polishes that Barry M has released. Rockstar is a grey/blue with tonnes of glitters within the colour. All of the glitter is different colours and if the light hits the nails they change colour. This nail polish claims have to a long lasting formula and keep your nails sparkling.
Application wasn't the easiest. Thin coats just don't happen with this polish because of the glitter, it made applying in thin layers very lumpy in places so the only way to get an even coat was to apply it pretty thick and hope for the best. Even with applying the polish pretty thickly, it still needed three coats on most nails to get the colour that is in the bottle which I was very disappointed with. I was pretty impressed with the drying time because of how thick the coats where but my nails dried so quickly! My nails were completely dry within 15 minutes and I was able to do everything as normal without having to be careful to not have my nails touch anything!
I thought it was going to feel textured on my nails but it was pretty smooth which I didn't expect. It wasn't as long lasting was I thought it was going to be, glitter polishes tend to last forever on my nails and even with base and top coat, I was only able to get about 2 and a half days wear before it started to chip. Because I did paint it pretty thick, I was actually able to just peel it off which made removing it much more bearable as glitter polishes are a nightmare to remove.
Not sure if I would purchase any more shades but I will continue to use this one and see if I can get the wear time a bit longer. These polishes retail for £3.99 each in all Barry M stockists. These polishes are currently on buy one get one half price in Boots if you are interested!
Have you tried these glitterati polishes? What did you think?
