BOOK REVIEW: About That Fling - Tawna Fenske

Last week I headed down to the beach for the day and watched a good book to read on my kindle. I headed on over to Amazon and spotted the Kindle First section which is where you can pick up selected titles before their release date in the next month for just 99p. I spotted About That Fling by Tawna Fenske and downloaded it straight onto my kindle without reading too much about it.
About That Fling is based around Jenna and Mia who are best friends, both who work for the Belmont Health System. Jenna has a one night stand who Adam...who ends out to be Mia's ex husband which quickly turns into something more. Jenna lives with her Aunt Gertie who is a secret romance writer with the book is set in Portland. I am not going to say anything else about the plot because I don't want to spoil anything!

This book had me hooked from the first page, I honestly couldn't put it down. I finished it within an afternoon and enjoyed it cover to cover. If you like romanic comedies you are going to fall in love with this book just like I did. I found the characters, especially Jenna, to be extremely likeable from the beginning. This book is a modern romanic comedy, with nods to the iPhone 6 and Facebook messaging which I really enjoyed, it will be funny to read this in a few years then those things will be 'old'. I found this book to be very easy to follow too.

Let's start with the relationship between Jenna and Adam. I was rooting for them the whole way through the book. You could really feel the chemistry between the two of them and I fell in love with them together. Every chapter I was hoping they would end up together with a happy ending. Where do I start with Aunt Gertie? She is hilarious and one of my favourite characters from the book, she is the aunt everybody wants around for comedic value. She says some of the funniest things which had my laughing out loud on the beach, I think I got a few strange looks! She encourages Jenna to have a wild side which is exactly how Adam happened.

The main reason I enjoyed this book as much as I did is because it actually made me laugh a number of times. I don't want to ruin the book because I want everyone to read it but there was a part in the book involving dick pics and I just couldn't stop laughing! A lot of the book was based at the work place of Jenna which I liked and found very interesting as it is something I didn't really know anything about but found it very easy to follow. I absolutely loved the ending of this book. Not only was there a completely shocker which I wasn't expecting to happen in the slightest! But there was a true act of friendship between Mia and Jenna which melted my heart a little bit.

If you are looking for a new book to read I can't recommend this enough. As I mentioned at the beginning Kindle has selected this book as this months 'Kindle First' where you can purchase it for 99p (link for this price) until its official release date of September 1st 2015, the book will then be £3.99 from this date. I am off to read some of Tawna Fenske's other titles as I have really fallen in love with her writing.
