La Roche Posay Effaclar BB Blur

Finding the perfect base that will give me a medium to full coverage that lasts all day without melting off or making my complexion look oily can be a struggle to find. I also have to use a primer to smooth out my skin tone and blur the appearance of pores. So when I find a product that claims to have everything I want in one, it could be a match made in heaven. La Roche Posay have recently launched the Effaclar BB Blur and I have been absolutely loving it.
La Roche Posay Effaclar BB Blur
The La Roche Posay Effaclar BB Blur is specifically created for oily skin to provide a day of control from shine. While blurring the appearance of pores, blemishes and fine lines, this is a new generation skincare hybrid that absorbs oil all day long. As someone who has quite oily skin this sounds like my perfect base product. This is also suitable for sensitive skin and aims to provide a medium coverage while blurring any imperfections and leaving a radiant and flawless finish.

There are currently two colour options available, Fair/Light and Light/Medium, I wear Fair/Light and find it matches my skin tone perfectly (I am a NC15 in MAC foundations for reference). This isn't like any of the other BB products I have tried and I much prefer it over any of the high street ones. It has a lovely mousse texture and feels incredibly lightweight on the skin, all of the other BB products I have tried tend to be on the oily side. When I first saw the shade I was convinced that it was going to be too dark for me but because it contains shade adapting pigments it colour matched my skin perfectly. It does leave the skin looking matte but not flat with a slight radiance to it.

I would have to agree and say that the coverage is definitely medium but can it built to a higher coverage if needed. I have some breakouts on my skin as well as some redness around my nose and this covered both areas flawlessly with great coverage. I found that it applied best when I used my fingers and then went in with a buffing brush to make sure it was all blended evenly. My skin has looked almost flawless each time I have used this, it left my pores looking minimised and my redness/blemishes were camouflaged without needing concealer. Even with this providing a great coverage, it looks very natural on the skin, perfect for those 'no makeup' makeup days. My skin does tend to get quite oily throughout the day and I always needed to touch up with powder every few hours but with this I didn't even need to touch up at all throughout the day. Even though I am only 21, my skin does have some lines, around my mouth and previous foundations usually settle into them but this smoothed over them and they were left undetectable  If you are older than I am this would be a perfect base for you.

If you are looking for a mattifying product that provides good coverage and blurs any imperfections, this is the product for you! The La Roche Posay Effaclar BB Blur retails for £16.50 but its currency £11 until the 19th January 2016 - link
