Tesco 60p Wax Melts

Its no secret how much of a fan I am of the Yankee Candle Wax Tarts and at £1.49 it can end up being expensive when you want multiple scents and have to pay shipping costs (I don't have a Yankee Candle stockist near me). I haven't really tried any wax melts from any other brands so I thought I would give this Tesco Live Wax Melts a try, I thought for 60p it wouldn't be too much of a waste of money if they turned out to be rubbish!
Tesco 60p Wax Melts
Tesco currently have six different scents available in these wax melts but I can only find five of the fragrances on the Tesco Direct website. I have White Linen, Damson & Pomegranate and Passion Fruit & Melon. There are also wax melts in the fragrance of Sweet Vanilla and Spiced Berry, all retailing for just 60p each. One of the things I have noticed when comparing them to the Yankee Candle Wax Tarts is that there is no recommendation of how many hours of fragrance you will get out of each tart and they don't have cute names like the Yankee Candle ones but for 60p each you can't really complain.

I will say that these wax melts are very hit or miss. I was initially extremely impressed when I first starting melting Damson & Pomegranate. It filled the whole of up my upstairs with a delicious fruity fragrance for hours an hours. I easily got eight to ten hours of fragrance out of this tart. It filled the house beautifully and the scent even lingered after I switched off my melt warmer. Then I tried White Linen which smells very similar to Yankee Candle Clean Cotton, I was so excited to give this a try but I ended up being extremely disappointed. It didn't have a good scent kick off and you could hardly smell it unless you stood right next to the warmer. If you are going to give this scent a try, I would highly recommend using White Linen in a smaller place so that it provides a good scent kick off.

These Tesco wax melts are less than half the price of the Yankee Candle versions, if you are doing your food shop definitely pop a couple in your cart, especially Damson & Pomegranate - if you love fruity scents you'll love this. If wax melts aren't your thing, Tesco also have a line of samplers in the same scents.

Have you tried these?

  3. I've tried these before and I definitely agree that the fruiter ones have quite a good throw. For 60p you definitely can't go wrong and it's cheaper than buying a candle.

    1. I have a few from Yankee Candle, the ones that you use with a tea light start at around £7 for a basic one. I have an electric one now and I believe it was around £20! Ive had my electric one for over a year now and I love it x
