Tanya Burr Birthday Suit Eyeshadow Palette

I haven't been excited by a YouTuber launch in a while and when I spotted the new Tanya Burr Eyeshadow Palette I fell in love with the look of it. I had been really impressed with her lip glosses and they are some of my favourites so I was looking forward to trying out my first eyeshadow palette from her line.

This is the Birthday Suit Eye Palette from Tanya Burr Cosmetics which retails for £6 and is available at Superdrug and Feel Unique. This palette is from Tanya's new collection of Soft Luxe. This palette in particular is perfect for everyday looks and has gorgeous warmer toned shadows which are my absolute favourites. If this colour option isn't for you, there are a few other quads to choose from - I really like the look of the Hollywood Eye Palette. Also in the Soft Luxe collection are new shades of lip glosses and nail polishes.

I must admit that I am not a huge fan of the packaging. While I think it is gorgeous and I love that it had a cute heart shaped mirror inside, it is a little bulky and as it is made of cardboard it isn't durable enough to keep in my makeup bag. I like the metallic sheen to the palette but it was a bloggers nightmare as I just couldn't get it to photograph easily and it took me double the time it normally would! Inside the palette are four eyeshadows with a cute doted design on them but much to my disappointment, that little touch disappeared from the shadows with one swatch as the shadows are incredibly soft.

The four shadows inside the palette are Marzipan, Toast, Coca Sugar and Soft Truffle. All of the shades swatched beautifully on my arm and I was impressed and excited to use them on my eyes but I must say I was a bit disappointed. On the eyes they are a lot sheerer than they swatched my on arm and it didn't matter if I used a brush to apply them or my fingers. I have still been using the palette everyday because I do prefer a more natural look for work so this palette is great but I do wish they showed up a little better on the eyes as it takes a while to try to build up the colour. Cocoa Butter in the pan has some gorgeous glitter running through it but on the eye again they disappear.

While I love the looks I have been creating with this palette, with Marzipan on the lid and a mixture of Toast and Soft Truffle in the crease, I do wish they they were just a little more pigmented. I know this collection has a 'soft luxe' vibe but a little more pigmentation would have been nice. I am on the fence about this - let me know your thoughts if you own it!
