Elizabeth Arden 45 Chocolate Matte Lipstick

It's time for a throwback with Elizabeth Arden! It seems for Autumn/Winter that it is all going to be about throwing it back to the nineties with dark and bolder lips than ever! This is the perfect lipstick to switch up your makeup for the Autumn and still be on trend.

Elizabeth Arden have the perfect chocolate brown almost matte lipstick to get on trend for A/W16 with the shade Matte Chocolate. Everyone from Rihanna to Kylie Jenner is loving this lip colour trend and I am beginning to really love it too. In true Elizabeth Arden style, this limited edition lipstick comes in beautiful gold and silver accented packaging and the bullet of the lipstick is even embossed. This is one of those lipsticks that if you pull it out of your handbag people are going to check it out because the packaging is just stunning.

This is the perfect true chocolate brown lipstick shade and it is incredibly creamy and glides onto the lips. It is a very dark shade but you can definitely wear this as a lighter shade on the lips if you apply only a small amount to the centre of the lips and blend it out with your finger. Even though it is a very creamy lipstick, it does have a lovely semi-matte finish on the lips. Chocolate Matte has great pigmentation which is described as medium to full coverage but each time I have worn this I have only experienced full pigmentation on the lips.

I love these types of finishes that are almost matte but not quite as I find them to be much more comfortable on the lips and not as drying. This lipstick is not at all drying on the lips and it is extremely comfortable to wear. This lipstick claims to be long lasting on the lips up to 12 hours once applied and I would have to agree with the long wear claim, I never wear my lipstick for 12 hours straight but it held up well throughout the day and only needed reapplying once or twice depending on how much I have eaten and drunk during that time.

What I really like about this lipstick is that it doesn't feather or bleed outside the lip line which I am so happy about as I find with a lot of darker lipstick shades that this is a huge problem and I can never wear them for too long. As this lipstick has shea butter and is packed full of vitamins, I also found it to be fairly hydrating on the lips as well.

This Limited Editon Elizabeth Arden Lipstick in Chocolate Matte retails for £21 and is available - HERE.
