MAC Nutcracker Sweet Copper Face Palette (+ Swatches)

As soon as I saw that Whisper of Gilt was coming back, I made it my mission to get my hands on it. I am a huge fan of highlighters but I really don't have that many in my collection so I thought I would invest in this while it is available again. This is from the Christmas collection this year and I must say that I am loving the packaging this year and it is my favourite from the past couple of years, I already have a few other things and more on my 'to buy' list!

This now sold out (on the MAC Cosmetics website) is a beautiful highlighter and blush compact known as the Copper Sweet Face Compact from the Nutcracker Sweet collection for Christmas 2016. This is on the pricey side at around £30 but if you are a highlighter obsessive, you have to have this in your collection. I hadn't been a huge fan of the Christmas collection packaging in recent years but this is so my style and I love the colours and the gold accents. Even the boxes the products come in are pretty and just can't be thrown away.

The Sweet Copper Compact has the much loved Whisper of Gilt Highlighter which is a stunning pale gold with warmer undertones, I honestly have nothing like this in my collection. Also in the compact is a lovely peachy brown blush called Pleasure Model which is great for Autumn. I thought this shade would be too dark on me but it works well with a stippling brush and a light hand on my pale skin. Both of the powders have a gorgeous embossing detail on the top, I have found with Whisper of Gilt in particular that when I rub my brush to pick up the highlighter, occasionally chunks fall off so do keep this in mind as it doesn't stay pretty for long!

When I first used Whisper of Gilt, I really liked how it looked on me and how it gives the cheekbones a sheen and no glitter, I wasn't wowed but I wasn't disappointed. As soon as I tried it again with a different brush, I was so impressed and obsessed. I was using the Zoeva 134 Luxe Powder Fusion Brush which is normally my favourite brush to highlight with but once I switched to the 105 Luxe Highlight Brush, I fell in love as it picked up so much more product. This gives the most beautiful sheen to the cheekbones and looks gorgeous paired with the blush from the compact and it does last all day on me.

The blush in Pleasure Model is my favourite type of blush to wear in the colder months and this one applies to effortless. You can build up the intensity from sheer to a much more intensive look. This blush is very soft to the touch and doesn't emphasise any of pores or cling to any dry patches which I have found to happen with some different blushes I had been using at the moment. This wears incredibly well throughout the day and even when it comes to taking off my makeup my blush is still doing well!

The MAC Sweet Copper Compact is available - HERE. I am definitely going to have to order Sweet Peach now...
