I am not usually a fan of matte lipsticks and if you read my last Rimmel review, you will know I wasn't much of a fan of those products. However this is completely different and I am really liking these lipsticks and I might just be converted to matte lipsticks, thanks Rimmel! These are the brand new lipsticks from Rimmel and if you love a matte lip, you need to check out these affordable shades.
Swatched (Bottom to Top): 200 Salute, 750 Look Who's Talking, 610 High Flyer, 110 Leader Of The Pink, 700 Trendsetter, 500 Take the Stage, 120 Call The Shots, 810 The Matte Factor & 800 Run The Show.
These are the new The Only 1 Matte Lipsticks from Rimmel which are currently available in nine different shades. These lipsticks claim to have a non-drying formula that is actually comfortable to wear and glides onto the lips. They say that they have full impact colour with a high coverage and flawless matte finish in a single stroke. I usually hate matte lipsticks as they can be extremely drying on the lips and when you already have dry lips, it is never a good combination so I couldn't wait top put these to the test.
I have been very impressed with these lipsticks as they are incredibly comfortable on the lips and I do really like the matte finish they provide. I thought a couple of the shades would be a little streaky on first swipe but they are all very pigmented as you can see from the swatches, that is just one swipe. I feel like the range is a little lacking but there is definitely room for more shades other than mainly nudes and a few bright shades but they do have the bases covered at the moment. These are not at all drying on my lips which I was so pleased about as my lips are incredibly dry in the winter but I can still wear these shades once I have used a good lip scrub first.
These comfortable wearing matte lipsticks are very long lasting too and hold up well throughout the day. My favourite shades at the moment would have to be 110 Leader of the Pink for day time wear and I have been grabbing that one the most. I also really like 810 The Matte Factor for when I want a more dramatic and bold lip. Due to the bullet, these are a little harder to apply if you have slightly smaller lips but that's nothing a lip brush and a concealer can't fix during the clean up. These do have a pretty strong scent which I am not partially a fan of but I do love these lipsticks.
