Garnier Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash

The much loved Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water has a new friend, meet the Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash. As soon as I spotted this in Boots, I grabbed it and knew I wanted to give it a try immediately as I love the cleansing water. This is that new that I can't find it online just yet but do check your Boots stores as it was on an end display and it was only around £2 as it was on offer for a third off I think.Garnier Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash

The new Garnier Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash claims to remove all makeup while cleansing and soothing the skin with a rinse off formula. Garnier says that this is safe for face, eyes and lips while having no perfume and is even suitable for sensitive skin. The packaging is very similar to the Micellar Water as you can see and I really like that they decided to do a pump on this as it makes it much easier to dispense the product and apply to the face. This comes in a 200ml bottle and it isn't too big so this would fit nicely in a washbag if you wanted to take this on holiday with you.

This is to be applied to a wet face and be massaged gently into the skin with circular motions to foam up the gel. This is to be kept out of direct contact with eyes and in the event that this happens it is recommended to rinse immediately. When I first picked up this product I was honestly a little confused as to whether it was a face wash or a makeup remover, having used it, I personally would not recommend this for actual makeup removal. I have found this gel wash to work much better as second step cleanser to make sure all makeup is removed and to cleanse the skin. I don't have particularly sensitive eyes but this really stung my eyes and I didn't even get any product in my eyes so I won't use this at all for the eye area from now on.

This product is great for helping remove liquid lipsticks which can be a pain to remove. I did find this to be very slightly drying on the skin so I did need to put on a heavy duty moisturiser afterwards. I will keep using this as I do like how clean it leaves my skin feeling but I personally won't be using it to remove makeup, I know a few bloggers which have been loving this for makeup removal but it is just not for me. If you wear quite light makeup I think this would be great to remove that at the end of the day.
