While I am very late to the contouring party, I have finally found a selection of products that make it very easy for a beginner like me. One of the main issues I was having with contour kits was the shade selection, I have very fair/pale skin and many of the contouring products and palettes on the market were just too dark for me to use but this one has been perfect.
Fab Brows isn't a brand that I had heard much about previously but the quality of this palette has really impressed me! This is a powder contour kit which includes three shades in a sleek compact with a mirror. The Step by Step Trio Contour Kit includes the palette as well as a mini contouring brush and an easy to follow guide on how to use this kit. The brush included is super soft and is angled making it great to use with the contour shades in the palette for areas such as the cheeks. It is a cute little brush so it won't take up much room in your makeup bag and would be great to travel with.
The palette itself is on the smaller side and has a great size mirror for applying makeup on the go. Inside the palette are three powder shades to contour, define and highlight. This palette is going to help achieve the look of what Fab Brows likes to call, supermodel cheekbones and I am all for the illusion of makeup! This palette has been designed to suit all skin tones and for all three of the shades to work well together, this palette is great if you have a light to medium skin tone as it is on the ever so slightly lighter shade which I am so happy about. The powders themselves are so soft that they almost feel silky to the touch and all three shades are incredibly pigmented.
I have been using the angled brush included to apply the contour shades to the cheeks to as well as to define and add warmth to the skin. I do really like all three of the shades in this trio and find that they all work well together while not being at all orange toned. These powders are so easy to apply and blend that you can create a subtle contour or go as dramatic as you would like. The highlighting shade in the palette is great for areas such as the Cupid's Brow, above the cheekbones as well as the bridge of your nose. Once applied all of the shades are long lasting and don't disappear like some powders can do.
