High Coverage Foundations for Every Budget

I own so many foundations, more than I am willing to admit, but these are the best ones I have tried for high coverage, if not full in many cases. As I have acne prone skin, one of the biggest things that comes with it, apart from a lot of texture, is redness and discolouration. I would much rather prefer to spend a little more on a good foundation with incredible coverage than have to apply a tonne of concealer over top of a rubbish foundation as it can lead to the skin looking cakey and feeling heavy.

Swatched: PUR 4-in-1 Powder in Porcelain  Milani Conceal & Perfect in 01 Creamy Vanilla  L'Oreal Pro Glow in 202 Creamy Natural, L'Oreal Total Cover in 12 Natural Rose,Vichy Dermablend 3D Correction in 15 Opal, IT Cosmetics CC Cream Fair, Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear in 005, Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Foundation in Light Sand.

As you can see from the swatches, every shade is pretty much different for my skin tone but most of them I am able to wear at the moment but sometimes I won't wear any bronzer or I will need to slightly lighten with a concealer to make sure that the shade matches my skin tone. While almost all of the foundations I love are more expensive, there are some hidden gems on a budget that I would highly recommend! I do prefer foundations with a yellow tone to them as I find that they work for my skin tone, I always go for a yellow undertone or neutral as I find this matches me best.

If you are on a budget, I really love the L'Oreal Infallible Pro Glow, this isn't available in the UK but I buy mine off eBay here and the L'Oreal Total Cover. The Total Cover foundation is my favourite high street foundation at the moment but I do have one issue with it in that because of it formulation, you have to apply it to each area of the face and blend immediately otherwise it will start to set and can lead to looking patchy on the skin. This foundation has incredible coverage, this is definitely a full coverage foundation with a matte finish and is so long lasting. The Pro Glow foundation has medium to high coverage depending on how much you apply and a gorgeous glowy finish. If I don't want a matte finish like I would get from the Total Cover, I will mix some Pro Glow into it and it works brilliantly and looks gorgeous on the skin.

Around the same price point as high street foundations is the Milani Conceal and Perfect 2 in 1 Foundation and Concealer. This has amazing coverage and I find it very easy to blend but it massively oxidises so if you have a lighter skin tone, I wouldn't recommend this for you but I do like to wear this when I have on fake tan. This foundation has a plump and it very easy to apply and it is buildable too. If you have really struggling with acne and covering it, the Vichy Dermablend 3D Correction Foundation. This foundation has incredible coverage, definitely more of a full coverage foundation but it really helps with texture issues and smooths the skin.

If you want undetectable high coverage, the IT Cosmetics CC Cream is the product for you. I love this product but I have been trying to save it for the summer as it has SPF 50! While I use a Beauty Blender for all but two of these products, I would recommend a buffing brush to apply this as it works so much better and it makes it much easier to achieve full coverage with this. This looks incredible natural on the skin and covers every one of my skin issues like it's no problem. The other foundation I like to use to apply with a buffing brush is the Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation. This isn't what I would call full coverage at all, it is definitely more of a medium coverage but it is buildable. This has a smoothing effect on the skin and feels very lightweight and lasts for around 12 hours on the skin, a setting spray completely transforms the wear of this product too.

The Lancome Tient Idole Ultra 24 Hour Foundation has such great coverage, definitely more of a fuller coverage on me but it isn't as long lasting on its own as some of the other foundations in this post and needs more touch ups throughout the day. Whereas with the Total Cover from L'Oreal I don't have to worry at all about needing to touch up throughout the day as it is so long lasting. One of the amazing things about this product is  the shade range, it is available in 40 shades so you are bound to find a shade match for you.

If you want a powder foundation or something to top up your foundation coverage, I love the PUR Pressed Mineral Makeup with SPF 15. I like to use this powder to top up my foundation coverage if it isn't quite full or on no makeup days to give the skin some coverage to I feel a little more confident. Even though it is a good coverage powder, it isn't at all heavy on the skin or leaves you looking powdery. I love the packaging of this too, I have the limited edition compact which is super sparkly.

While all of these are fantastic foundations, my top recommendations would be the IT Cosmetics CC Cream for the summer as it has SPF 50 and the L'Oreal Total Cover as it has the best coverage out of any of these products and wears the best.
