Rimmel Super Gel Nail Polishes & Top Coat

One of the main reasons why I don't paint my nails often is because they will chip usually within 24 hours, it doesn't matter what my nail polishes or top coats I use but they always chip! When these products arrived on my doorstep, I was very interested to try them out, as they claim to last up to 14 days and if I only have to paint my nails once every two weeks - I am all about that!

The Rimmel 2 Step Super Gel range includes a good range of shades already, with ten exclusively created by Kate Moss, but they just launched five new shades, the Super Gel Beach Ready Collection. This range sounded right up my street as all you need to do is apply two coats of your selected shade and then apply the Super Gel Top Coat to have your nails last up to two weeks without chipping. These polishes will give the high shine finish and long lasting effect that gel nails would, without the need of the UV lamp. All you need to do is make sure that each coat is fully dry before you apply another and you will be good to go.

The five new shades that have just launched will get you Summer ready! I love the shades that they have included as they are all something I would actually wear and since they arrived a few weeks ago, it is all I have used and I have never been so impressed with nail polish before! The five new shades just released are:

- Purple Splash: a pastel lilac
- Sun Fun Daze: a raspberry pink
- Coral Queen: a brighter orange
- Dive Right In: a bright baby blue
- Flamenco Beach: a blue toned red

While Rimmel say you only need two coats of the polish for full pigmentation, I did notice that both Purple Splash and Coral Queen I did need three coats as with only two they did look a little streaky but I honestly don't mind applying an extra coat if they are going to be as long-lasting as they claim. The nail polishes themselves apply evenly and dry pretty quickly so you can go ahead and apply additional coats followed by the Top Coat. The nail polishes themselves aren't as long lasting by themselves, it's the top coat that really does make all the difference. The brush is perfection as it is on the wider side so it fits the nails perfectly without getting any product onto the skin around the nails.

I love each and every shade in this collection and I think Rimmel have picked the perfect Summer shades as you have fun bright colours as well as a few pastel shades and a classic red. I really like that they decided to include the red shade in this launch as I only really wear red nail polish on my toes and you can't go wrong with a red polish!

The Super Gel Top Coat is one of the best nail products I have ever used and I don't think I will ever paint my nails without using this from now on. This top coat applies so smoothly over any nail polish and has the same size brush as the nail polishes so it is very easy to apply. I have never really liked top coats as I never found them to actually do anything for my nails but this one is phenomenal. My nails usually chip within a day or two so even if this made my nails last four days, I would have been impressed but I was blown away at the fact that this made my nails stay chip free for eight days. After day eight, one of my nails started to slightly chip but it wasn't noticeable at all.

This leaves your nails incredibly glossy until you remove it and I love this about it as even when I use nail polishes with glossy finishes, they never look as shiny as this makes my nails. The only downside to this is that it does take a while to dry on me so I like to use the OPI Drip Dry Drops to have my nails completely dry within minutes.

The Rimmel Super Gel nail polishes and top coat retail for £5.99 each - HERE.
