My Highlighter Collection

Yes I know, I own a lot of highlighters but I just can't stop buying them. As I was photographing all my highlighters, another one was actually delivered - I have an addiction! I wear highlighter every day and with there being so many different shades and formulations out there, I feel like I can justify my every purchase! My little sister loves raiding my collection too and I often find my Jeffree Star Skin Frosts missing...

This post would mostly be a mile long if I wrote about every highlighter that I own so I am going to share my favourite and most used ones. The Jeffree Star Skin Frosts are some of the best ones I have ever used and if you want an intense glow, you need one of these. Love him or hate him, he knows how to make a highlighter! I have five of these now and my most used shade at the moment is Peach Goddess, it's such a pretty shade that would work well on so many skin tones. If you have a very airy complexion, I think you would love Ice Cold. This is a bright white highlighter and I love how it looks on the cheekbones. I also use it mix with other highlighters if they are a little too dark.

TheBalm's Mary-Lou Manizer is one of my go to highlighters and is the only one I have actually hit pan on. This is one of the best highlighters I own as it doesn't look at all powdery on the skin but adds such a gorgeous glow. It doesn't draw attention to any of my texture issues or pores which I love. Everybody seems to go crazy about MAC Whisper of Gilt so I gave into the hype and ordered it last Christmas. And honestly, I just don't get the hype. It is such a pretty highlighter in the pan and when I swatch it with my finger but when applied with a brush it just doesn't look as pretty as I want it too. The Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow Palette is talked about with very negative opinions but I really love my palette! If you have fair skin, you will love this. The highlighter in this palette looks stunning on the cheekbones and doesn't draw attention to my texture just like Mary-Lou and adds a glow from within look to the skin.

I usually only ever wear powder highlighters as I find them so much quicker and easier to apply but the Zoeva Strobe Gels completely changed my mind. These are some of the most intense highlighters I have ever used and if you want your highlight to be seen from space, you need these! Even though these are gels, they set like powders and don't budge throughout the day. Another cream based product I really like are the Iconic London Strobing Sticks. These are available in three shades and my favourite at the moment is Glow as it is the most intense one out of the three. These are so easy to apply as I just swipe it onto the cheek bones and blend with a beautyblender.

Rainbow highlighters are such a fun product to play around with but many of the ones on the market are more expensive. But Essence has a gorgeous rainbow highlighter, the Prismatic Rainbow Highlighter, which is actually wearable. Rainbow highlighters are perfect for festival season. The one highlighting palette I have found myself using a lot lately is the Zoeva Summer Strobe Highlighting Palette. These powders are so soft to the touch and look gorgeous on the skin. If this shade collection isn't for you, they have a few different versions available.
