Zoeva Strobe Gels Review (+ Swatches)

While I have a couple of cream highlighters in my collection, I own nothing like these! These are actually gel highlighters and I have been so impressed with them! I only really used to use powder highlighters as they are so quick and easy to apply but I think I may have been converted.

Swatched: Halo and Corona

These are the Zoeva Strobe Gels, they are available in three shades and I have two stunning shades to share with you. These are incredibly lightweight highlighting gels that are perfect to add a dewy luminosity to where ever you apply them. I was so impressed with these from the first time that I swatched them and they look even better on the skin! There are three shades available, each recommended for specific skin tones but of course, you can use whatever shade you like! The two shades I have are:

- Halo: pearly silver shimmer for fair to light skin tones.
- Corona: Peachy rose gold shimmer for light to medium skin tones.

Each of the Strobe Gels comes in a glass jar that isn't too big so you can still keep it in your makeup bag if you wanted to. What I love about these is the texture, they have a unique memory shape gel texture that feels bouncy to the touch. I like to apply with these my fingertips and blending with a brush or damp Beauty Blender but you can dip a brush straight into these as they don't ever apply streaky no matter what you use to apply them. The formula has also been enriched with vitamin E and is 100% free from Parabens, mineral oils, perfume and phthalates.

As you apply these, they melt into the skin to have a natural looking yet intense glow, they never look like they are sitting on the skin. If you love an intense highlighter, you are going to fall in love with these because as the sunlight hits your cheekbones...it is blinding! You can definitely build up the pigmentation to be as intense as you would like or you can sheer them out for a more natural looking highlight with a damp sponge if you prefer, of course, I love it as intense as possible.

Even though they have a gel-like texture, they do set down on the skin and they don't budge! I am always rubbing my face and they never transfer, they are actually extremely long lasting which I wasn't expecting! Some days my foundation will have disappeared but my glow is still going strong. I love both of the shades but I have found myself using Halo more as I am still quite pale but I know once I have a tan that I will get so much use out of Corona!
