Affordable Must Haves from Essence

Essence are very quickly becoming one of my holy grail high street brands and I just can't get enough of their products at the moment! They are such an affordable brand that doesn't skimp on quality and I highly recommend them even if you aren't on a budget, I prefer some of their products over high-end versions!

I have a few products in my makeup bag from Essence that I am always talking about but as Essence has just turned 15 years old, they sent me a lovely package with some goodies in! It has packed full of some of my favourite products and a few that I had never tried before. I have been putting them to the test for the past couple of weeks and no surprise, I'm obsessed! One of the products that I don't think I have mentioned too much about but is something I have actually been using since last Christmas is the All About Matt Fixing Compact Powder. This powder is just £3 and it is one of the best setting powders if you love a matte finish. It keeps my oil at bay and never looks heavy or cakey on the skin. It is brilliant for touching up on the go and for setting foundation and concealers.

The Essence blushes are some of my most used and I always find myself grabbing them over my £45+ blush palettes. The Matt Touch Blush in Rose Me Up is just £1 and I can't believe the price as I would pay so much more for these blushes! It does have a matte finish but it doesn't look flat on the cheeks and it is well pigmented so you do need a light hand and I like to slowly build up the pigmentation. This shade, in particular, isn't something I would usually go for but I have been loving it for days when I want to go for a bolder lip or a more dramatic eye look. Another cheek related favourite of mine is the Light Up Your Face Palette which is just £3. This is a luminizing palette that includes three shades which you can use to bronze, highlight and add blush to the cheeks and face, I personally like to use these as cheek shades or as highlighter on my skin tone. These are incredibly soft and pigmentated, if you have a lighter skin tone you will love this palette! These aren't at all glittery and look gorgeous on the skin.

I love the Essence mascaras and Volume Stylist 18h Hold and Curl Mascara is fantastic. This £3 mascara is what I like to use with a more lengthening mascara to achieve incredible lashes. This mascara holds a curl like no other and actually curls the lashes better than my Benefit Roller Lash. It keeps the lashes separated and it is brilliant for the lower lash line too! I never really use an eyeshadow primer as I hadn't found one that I liked but I wanted to give the I Love Colour Intenifisying Eyeshadow Base a try. This is amazing stuff! It keeps my eyeshadow on all day long and it really does help intensify the pigmentation, especially with any of my lighter shadows. This is only £2.50 and it works so much better than any of the primers I have tried that are around £20!

My final Essence must have at the moment is the Matt Matt Matt Lipgloss in Ready, Set Impress. These are incredibly pigmented and so comfortable on the lips. They have a slightly more whipped formula and are the kind of matte lip products that I love as they aren't at all drying on the lips. These are £2.30 each and I can't wait to pick up a few more shades soon. For this being a 'matte lipgloss' it is very long lasting and I have found it to be so easy to apply too as the applicator is the perfect size.
