NYX Total Control Drop Foundation Review

I haven't tried any NYX products in what feels like years and I was on the hunt for a new foundation and this one sounded perfect. I hadn't heard too much about it before I ordered it and I have no idea why as it is incredible stuff! This has quickly become a favourite of mine and is a great full coverage high street alternative. Most of the foundations I have are £30+ so I can't believe this is better and half the price.

NYX Total Control Drop Foundation Review
The NYX Total Control Drop Foundation is available in 24 shades so hopefully, there is a shade for everyone. This foundation has completely adjustable coverage, the more drops you use the fuller the coverage and just two or three drops will achieve sheer to medium coverage. It's completely up to you with this foundation which is one of the things I love about it as it is unlike anything I have used before. I love that I am able to apply a sheerer coverage to my forehead where my skin doesn't need much coverage but for areas like my chin where I am acne prone, I can achieve full flawless coverage. The foundation itself comes in a dropper so it can be a little messy to apply.

To apply this foundation I like to drop a drop or two into each area of the face (cheeks, forehead, chin etc) and blend with a damp beauty blender, I have used a brush and they work brilliantly with this foundation too. Even though it is a little messy at times to apply, it is very convenient as it allows you to have full control over your coverage. It has a very matte, velvety finish to the skin but it doesn't look flat which I like. If I find I am looking a little too matte, there's nothing a radiant setting spray or some highlight that can't fix it.

One thing I was worried about with this foundation was how it would feel and look on the skin once you start to apply more drops for a fuller coverage. I had no reason to worry as it doesn't matter how many drops I use it never looks or feels heavy on the skin. It is almost completely lightweight on the skin and applies like a serum would. It is so easy to buff and blend into the skin, it literally takes me a few seconds with a beauty blender and I am good to go.

I have never been so impressed with a foundation as I am with this one! I like to use around 5/6 drops for my face as I suffer from a lot of discolouration and spots and I have never actually achieved complete full coverage until I used this. Every issue I have with my skin disappears and I am left with a gorgeous and flawless look to the skin. It doesn't settle into my pores or lines through the day which I love and it is incredibly long-lasting. I can apply this foundation at 7 am and it is still there at 8 pm with minimal touch ups, if I do want to prolong it even longer or if the weather is a bit warmer I like to use the Soap and Glory The Fab Pore Serum as a primer - this stuff is magic!
