Vichy Dermablend [Covermatte] Powder Review

Recently I spoke about two of my Vichy Dermablend favourites (you can check that out here) and then this powder arrived and I have been using it so much since it arrived! I have acne prone skin which is dry in some areas and oily in others so finding a good powder for me can be a bit of a struggle but I think I have finally found one...

This is the new Vichy Dermablend [Covermatte] Powder Foundation that aims to provide you with up to 12 hours of full yet buildable coverage. This product is available in five shades and has been formulated for combination, oily and acne-prone skin. It is non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic and free of parabens. One of the reasons why I love the other products from the Dermablend range is because of the smoothing effect they have on the skin so I was really hoping these would have the same effect and sure enough it does!

This powder has a natural looking matte finish and even though it is buildable, it doesn't matter how much you apply as it doesn't actually look powdery on the skin and it doesn't feel at all heavy, I hate being able to feel makeup on my skin. This is a powder foundation so you can wear this alone which is what I like to do on no makeup days but I have also been pairing it with one of my Dermablend foundations for added coverage and to make sure my makeup is locked into place. The coverage of this powder is incredible, I have a lot of scarring and discolouration as well as having spots on my chin especially and this makes my skin look basically clear and like I don't have any skin issues! I like to use a large fluffy brush to apply it over the top of foundations and a more dense kabuki style brush when I am using this powder alone on bare skin. It isn't at all cakey on the skin even though it is so buildable. 

One thing I was really surprised about with this powder is that it has SPF 25 and I am so pleased that it does as it is so important to keep your skin protected from sun damaged all year round. Once I have applied the powder and I'm happy with the coverage achieved I am good to go for the whole day! It's incredibly long-lasting and keeps my skin oil free all day long, there are only a few powders that can do this so I am so happy to have found another one! I have quite big pores and I always use a pore minimising primer but sometimes I do need some extra help and this powder is brilliant for this too! It has a very smoothing effect on the skin and doesn't sink into my pores, it almost looks like I don't have any!
