When it comes to affordable mascaras, Maybelline are one of my go-to brands! They make some of the best mascaras I have tried and that's is why I was excited to try out this brand new release but I do wish they were cruelty-free! The Lash Sensational mascara is one of my absolute favourites (I am always recommending it) so I was interested to see if this one could top it...
When I usually try new mascaras, I almost always hate them the first couple of times that I have tried it. Mainly because I get so used to how my lashes looked with the previous that I'm convinced that they don't look good. But with the Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara, that wasn't the case! From the first time I used it I have been a massive fan and really impressed with how my lashes look and the formulation. The packaging is right up my street too with the blush pink tube and black accents, I really like this colour theme and it makes the products seem a little more high end!
The mascara itself comes with a bristle wand, I normally like plastic wands better but this one works wonders for my lashes! The wand allows you to build up the lashes for full and soft volume but makes it easy to coat the lashes without making them clumpy. It's similar Better than Sex wand but without the hourglass shape. I find it best to wiggle the mascara side to side through the lashes from root to tip for the best results. Whenever I do this I find that my lashes are so incredibly long that they will also touch my brows! I love how long this mascara makes my lashes and that it is very buildable without making my lashes look clumpy. It's very thickening while separating the lashes and adding volume. The formula of this product is on the wetter side but it does dry down to leave the lashes feeling lightweight and without that horrible crispy feeling. It lasts well throughout the day and doesn't transfer too much into the skin underneath my brows (I have this problem with almost all mascaras I have tried). This is a great all on one mascara and I can't get enough of it!
The other product I have been testing out is the Total Temptation Brow Definer. This is available in three shades and I have the Deep Brown option. I usually only ever use brow pomades as my brows always need a lot of work but I have been loving this in combination with a pomade! I have been using this to fill in most of my brows and create an arch and the pomade to extend the brow and I love the results. This has a triangular crayon on one end and a uniquely shaped spoolie on the other (which is fantastic for combing through the brows). I was really impressed with how pigmented this is and how easy it is to apply. It's super creamy so you don't need to tug at the skin as you apply it but it doesn't budge once you apply it to the brows!
