Essentials for a Day in the Sun

With the hot weather back in full effect in the UK, I thought I should share my summer essentials. Whether I'm spending the day in the garden or at the beach, I have to have these products and items with me.
Water is always a top priority and should be for everyone. A few years ago I made the mistake of forgetting to have a drink while I was out in the sun all day and actually ended up passing out (luckily, I actually passed out in a Hospital) so now I've basically scared myself into being one of the most hydrated people! I love snacks so I always like to have something to eat while I'm enjoying the sunshine, it's usually crisps because I'm addicted to them.

Sunglasses are a must-have but usually something I always end up forgetting or losing if I'm honest. I always like to have my phone on me with a pair of headphones so I can listen to a podcast or some music on Spotify. The podcast I'm currently listening to is Psychobabble, I'm so glad it's back! I try to stay off my phone as much as possible during the summer to really enjoy the nice weather but I'm always guilty of checking Instagram and Twitter! When I'm off my phone and want something to do while covered in SPF, I love to read a book or two. I'm about to start To All the Boys I've Loved Before as I've heard it's such a great book and the Netflix movie comes out in a few weeks.

Of course, I have to have a few beauty products with me! I'm always covered in SPF and for the face, I really like the Glossier Invisible Shield, I have tried to use different ones but they actually made my face burn so I'm sticking with Glossier! For protecting the body against sun damage, I'm not too fussy with specific brands, I will use whatever I have on hand as long as it's a high SPF! I always keep a lip balm with SPF in because I have burnt my lips because and it was so painful and I'd like to never experience that again. The final product I have is a facial spray, I'm currently using the Mario Badescu ones and they are such a lovely product to use in the summer! They instantly refresh the skin and if you keep it in the fridge before heading it out, it's so cooling on the skin!

What are your summer essentials?
