Essence Face & Eye Palettes

Essence is one of my favourite affordable brands and it's always the first place I visit whenever I'm in Wilko! These are four of the newest launches from Essence and I have fallen in love with two of them specially. I can't believe just how affordable these palettes are.

Essence has just come out with four Face and Eye Palettes and I love the design of these palettes and themes behind each palette. With there being four palettes there is bound to be one for you as each is completely different! In each palette, you get nine shades with a mixture of eyeshadows, highlighters and blushes but you can mix and match these shades to use them however you would like. The four palettes available are:

- Born Awesome: Warm toned with orange and nude shades
- Not Your Princess: A punk pink palette
- The Future is Me!: Cool toned and shimmery.
- Too Glam to Give a Damn: packed full of glamorous metallics.

I really love the packaging of these palettes, they are so fun! Each palette has a completely different outer design to match the theme of the palette, my favourite packaging design is The Future Is Me, I love the space theme. Inside each of the palette is a mixture of different size circle eyeshadow pans, this design is almost identical to the design of some MAC palettes I have seen online! You also get a small mirror inside for on the go applications.

I was really surprised at the pigmentation and quality of these palettes, they're very soft and blendable with a tiny amount of fallout. All of the palettes have a mixture of shimmer and matte shades and both formulas are very pigmented, usually with cheaper eyeshadow palettes that matte shades will be a little chalky and less pigmented but that isn't the case with these. You can easily build up the pigmentation and I like applying the shimmer shades with a wet brush to make them a little more intense on the lid. The highlighter shades are the biggest pans in the palette and I have fallen in love with a few of them! They all look gorgeous on the cheekbones or used as eyeshadows.

I have been using Born Awesome and Not Your Princess the most recently and both of these palettes are well pigmented and long-lasting on the eyes. I love that you get shades for the face and eyes as it's great for travelling but also because it gives you even more options when applying your makeup. The Not Your Princess palette is a great palette for smokey eyes with a pop of bright pink, this is the palette I can see myself using the most at Christmas time. The Born Awesome palette has been my daily go-to, these are my kind of shades! I love anything warm toned and this palette is perfect for me. The pop of blue in this palette looks stunning on the lower lash line!
