September 2014 Favourites

Cannot believe September has been and gone, I am so excited that it is almost Halloween - are you?! This past month I have really tried to make an effort to use up some of my beauty products and haven't allowed myself to buy any (apart from the odd beauty box) until I use some up! Having been doing this, I have recovered some old loves and found myself using them on a daily basis. A couple of these items I want to make everyone stop what they are doing and go and buy them because I love them that much! Here is this months favourites...

Lastest in Beauty Glamour Power List 2014 Box

The Latest in Beauty Glamour boxes are one of the best ones around so whenever I see a new one has been released, I have to get my hands on it. This box is the Power List 2014 box which the products have been hand picked by the beauty director at Glamour magazine, Alessandra Steinherr. This box has really surprised me in that higher end brands have got involved. I love high end products but sometimes I don't want to go and splash out on a product that I may end up hating so this box is perfect to try products before I buy.

Autumn Nail Colours

I am in full Autumn/Winter mode. It may not be cold outside but I just want it so snow! If you follow me on Pinterest, you would have seen this by now!  I have been in cold weather mode since late August with my nails and have worn nothing but darker shades. I have found myself using the same shades over and over again so I thought I would share my favourites. When it comes to nail polish, I only really stick to three main brands - Essie, OPI and Barry M as they are my all time favourites.

REVIEW: Sudocrem Skin Care Cream

For years I have been using the Antiseptic Healing Sudocrem on my face to help get rid of my acne. Whenever I had cut myself or had some dry skin, I turned to Sudocrem which myself and my mum always referred to as 'Magic Cream' as it always did wonders. Until recently I didn't know that Sudocrem had released a Skin Care Cream* specifically for teenagers and young adults with spot prone skin - amazing! This skin care cream smells the same as the antiseptic healing version (which I really like) and still is at bright white colour. This is the 'grown up' version of the Antiseptic Healing Cream and comes in a handy small size so it is perfect for leaving in your handbag in case you need it.

A Box Subscription Based Around Your Time Of The Month? | Pink Parcel Box

Beauty subscription boxes are one of my favourite things that come through my front door every month and there is a new one on the block! Pink Parcel* is a box subscription based around your time of the month! When I first found out about this concept my mind was blown, this is such an incredible idea! The idea behind Pink Parcel is that each month, a week before your time of the month, you will get your supply of tampons that you select, from all the brands you already know and some more, as well as a few treats to make that time a little more bearable. Lets just start off by saying I have never been so impressed with a box subscription until now.

Introducing Cosme-de.com + Discount Code

I don't know how I haven't heard about this website sooner as it has been around for ten years! I heard about Cosme-de from a post on BeautyQueenUK's blog and I headed straight over to the site to have a browse and was really impressed with the brands that they stock. They stock brands such as; Nars, Benefit, Marc Jacobs, Etude House, GlamGlow, Tangle Teezer - to name a few! The website is every beauty bloggers dream stocking, Skincare, Make Up, Fragrances, Hair Care and more. Everything is priced very fairly and some items are slightly cheaper than if you brought them in the UK which is what drew me to the website - who doesn't love cheaper beauty products? So when they got in touch and asked if I wanted to review a few things, I couldn't say no!

Montagne Jeunesse Nut Oil Masque

My skin has been a massive pain of late. I'm not sure if its the change in the weather or if I am having a reaction to one of my skincare products but my skin has left dehydrated mainly around my eyes. I was asked if I wanted to review a Montagne Jeunesses face mask and I jumped at the chance to get try and get my skin back on track with one of their masks. This is the Nut Oil Masque*, it claims to deeply nourish your skin and leave it glowing.

1000 Follower Giveaway

A couple of weeks back, I hit 1000 followers on Bloglovin which is insane! I actually made a goal back in January to hit 500 followers this year and I cannot believe I have doubled it and the year isn't even over yet! I am so thankful to have hit 1000 followers so I knew I had to do a little giveaway to give back to you guys! I was actually planning on saving these bits until Christmas to do a big giveaway but when I hit 1000 I knew I had to do it now (fear not, there will be a giveaway in December too!).

You Beauty Discovery Box September 2014

Beauty boxes are one of my favourite posts to write! Every month I get the You Beauty Discovery Box so I thought I would share the contents with you again! This months box celebrates You Beauty Discoveries one year anniversary so we have some extra treats this month which was exciting! I really loved the short list this month and it took me a while to decide what to pick! As always, this box costs £6.95 per month with postage included.

You Beauty Discovery Box September 2014
This month there is extra preselected items which is very exciting! First up we have two sachets of tea from Crabtree & Evelyn. I got the Afternoon Tea and Blackberry Green Tea which I am quite looking forward to trying out as I am always looking for a new favourite drink to have in the colder months. Next up we have a make up sponge (no brand) which is always handy to have in your bag for touch ups! We have a Hello Fresh £25 gift card, I haven't heard of Hello Fresh before and having had a look at their website I don't think I will actually use this but I will give it to a friend so that it doesn't get wasted! Finally we have a Toni & Guy Glamour Volume Plumping Whip, this is actually the second one of these I have got and still haven't tried it so I really need to give this a try!

Makeup Revolution Blush & Contour Palette

Makeup Revolution is quickly becoming one of my favourite inexpensive beauty brands, even though their prices are low that doesn't mean the quality of their products is cheap - quite the opposite! When I saw that my local Superdrug stocked Makeup Revolution I knew I had to pick something up so I chose the Blush & Contour Palette in Hot Spice. I cannot believe this palette only cost me £6, a complete steal! Blushes are one of my favourite beauty products and so are palettes so a blush palette is like my perfect beauty product!

Beauty Wishlist #14

Even though I have put myself on a spending ban, it doesn't mean I still aren't eyeing products. I might end up breaking the ban soon because I can't stop wanting these products! I find I buy more beauty products this time of year because the weather is so in between seasons so it seems pointless to buy new clothes - any one else? Some of these are new releases which just makes me want them even more and the rest are ones that I have had on my wishlist for a while but just never got round to purchasing..

Boots & Superdrug Haul

Yep, I've been at it again. I can't seem to stop buying beauty products at the minute! I'm not even sorry about it, I actually have another haul coming up next week with some online beauty bargains - I can't resist a sale! I couldn't make it to V Festival this year so I ended up selling my ticket which resulted in a couple of new beauty purchases. I have had all of these products on my wishlist for a while now and I was finally able to track them down, woohoo!

Orla Kiely Bergamot Hand Lotion

I really slack when it comes to hand care. I have tried a couple different products in the past but I just hated them. They made my hands feel so greasy and just didn't do anything to make me want to continue using them. Until I started using this hand lotion* from Orla Kiely. With the Autumn coming, I want to start taking care of my hands now before they start to dry out from the cold air and this has been doing an amazing job!

Benefit Must Have Products

I am a high street beauty lover through and through, however, I am a massive Benefit Cosmetics fan. I am yet to find a product that I don't like but I definitely have my favourites. If you have never tried any Benefit products before, these are the four that I recommend you try first! Although these products are on the pricer side, they are 100% worth it and I will repurchase these time and time again.

Colour B4 - Does It Work? | #CB4SummerSelfie

I had been wanting to try Colour B4 for a few months so when I saw on Twitter that they were looking for people to take part in the #CB4SummerSelfie challenge, I knew I had to get involved! This is a hair transformation challenge. What Colour B4 does is strips the dyed hair colour from your hair to reveal a lighter, sometimes your natural shade. The one I was sent is the Extra Strength version which is for dark tones and build-up which is exactly what I needed.

I have dyed my hair really dark brown for about four years and towards to the end dyeing it, the ends just looked black so I ended up just dyeing it black. I had stopped dyeing my hair and tried to fade the colour naturally which worked to an extent but I have been left with my natural lighter shade on the top and black on the ends. I used Head and Shoulders for a month or so and it did get rid of some of the colour which got rid of the harsh line towards the roots.
