January 2016 Favourites

I am so happy to see the end of January - its been a loooong month! I have lots of new favourite products this month because I got some great beauty bits for Christmas and picked up some products for myself and I am yet to be disappointed with anything. All but one of the products are new (to me at least) which I have been using non stop over the last month, I have found some good gems here.

Top 5 Benefit Products

Benefit has been one of my high end favourite brands for years and I always get so excited to try out their new products. Although I have so many Benefit products in my collection, many of which I use every single day, these five products are my all time favourites and I couldn't be without them. I didn't include any of the Boxed Powders because I love them all and wouldn't have been able to pick just one or two favourites!

My Experience with Acne

I have talked about my struggles with my skin so many times but I have never done an in dept post about my skin and how I have finally started to keep it as clear as possible. This has taken my years and I have tried so many different products, changed my diet and even seen Doctors about my skin because I hated it so much. Even at almost 22 years old, I still struggle with acne but I have learnt how to deal with it and have some things you could try to see if they could help you with your skin too.

Models Own Glitter Gel Polishes

If there is one type of nail polish that I an obsessed with, its glitter. I have always been a fan of glitter nails whether its on every nail or as an accent. With more and more brands releasing glitter polishes with different textures and finishes, I knew I needed to try out some new ones. Models Own have a Glitter Gel collection which includes five different shades and I have been trying out two of them.

ghd Advanced Split End Therapy

I love trying out new products on my hair. My hair is pretty damaged from the daily washing and heat use as well as the dying I put it through regularly. Pair all of that with a fear of the hairdressers and I have some pretty damaged and split ends. When I heard about the ghd Advanced Split End Therapy, I knew I had to try it, it sounded like the perfect product to restore my hair!

High Street Brow Essentials

I must have the worlds worst eyebrows. They are short, small and when paired with a big head they look even smaller. I have been trying out so many different brow products over the past two years and I have found some really great products from the high street that I always go back to. Each of these products are under £10, with a few under just £4 - a total brow bargain.

Manuka Doctor ApiClear Purifying Facial Peel

I had been wanting to try this facial peel for the longest time, all thanks to Shaanxo. She is one of my favourite YouTubers and I always believe her reviews and when she says she loves something, I have to get my hands on it. I have only tried a few facial peels in the past which I hadn't seen any results with but this one has totally changed my opinion on facial peels - I am obsessed now!

Beauty Wishlist #38

I feel like I haven't done a beauty wishlist post in forever, I have been avoiding looking at any of the beauty online shop websites because I have been trying to save money. But of course, I ended up seeing so many new releases that I am now lusting over. A new Dior collection came out and I have fallen in love with almost everything, I wish I could justify purchasing it all!

Makeup for Pale Skin

I have always had very pale skin and I like to avoid the sun as much as possible as I want to keep my skin well protected. Finding products, especially face products, that match and work with my skin tone is hard to find, its even harder on the high street. I have always struggled to find foundations that match, almost every single one on the high street in the lightest shade is still too dark for me. Its even harder to find a bronzer that isn't too dark so that I don't look tangoed.

Models Own Hyper Gel Nail Polishes

I absolutely love nail polish shades during the Autumn and Winter, I can't get enough of dark nails and greys tones. Models Own have such a great selection of shades available in the Twilight Hyper Gel collection. All of the shades are gorgeous autumnal shades and I have been wearing these three shades non stop. One of them has already become an all time favourite in my nail polish collection.

Mini MAC Haul

Years ago I pretty much owned everything from MAC but as I discovered more and more brands I always forgot about how much I did like the products I tried from MAC. I decided to treat myself to three products which I had been lusting over for the longest time and I am so happy to have them in my collection. But I know I am going to end up *needing* all of the MAC lipsticks, sorry bank balance!

Makeup Brush Starter Kit

It wasn't until a few years ago that I realised I actually needed to have some good tools to apply my makeup with, I don't even remember what I used before! I am not one who likes to spend too much money on brushes but I still want to find good quality brushes that are going to last wash after wash. These brushes are the ones I would highly recommend if you are looking to invest in some good quality brushes to get you started.

Top 5 Lip Glosses

Can you believe that I used to detest any type of lip product and now I can't get enough of them! Lip glosses are my favourite lip product because I find them easy to wear and apply and give the lips so much shine. These five lip glosses are my absolute favourites with being just a few pounds going to around £20!

How I Edit My Photos

I don't have a fancy DLSR camera so I rely mainly on editing to make my pictures look good. While I did upgrade from a standard digital camera to a bridge camera and I have noticed a massive important in my photos. I have tried using my Dad's DLSR camera and I just couldn't get on with it so I guess that has saved me some money! Since I started blogging I have changed up the programmes I use to edit my photos and have found some great free programmes and websites that work just as well as Photoshop.

EOS Limited Edition Holiday 2015 Collection

EOS lip balms are some of my all time favourites but they can be a bit difficult to to track down in the UK and when you do find them they are incredibly overpriced. I always get mine directly from the States, even with shipping costs it still works out much cheaper! I did a whole blog post about how to ship US brands to the UK if you want to know more - link here. As soon as I saw this limited edition set for the holidays, I knew I had to get my hands on it!

Product of the Week // Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation

Having heard nothing but good things about the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation I was very excited to try it out and see what all the hype was about. Myself and Sarah are collaborating today talking about our product of the week so go check hers out here. She has a wonderful blog and deserves so many more followers so give her a follow while you are there! This week I have been infatuated with this foundation, it may have become a holy grail product in my makeup bag already.

Thierry Mugler Alien Eau de Parfum

I have been lusting over this fragrance for years. Everytime I went passed a perfume counter I was spritzing it all over myself but I could never justify spending the money on the fragrance because it is quiet expensive, even for the smallest size. When I unwrapped the Thierry Mugler Alien Perfume on Christmas Day I was ecstatic!

December 2015 Degustabox

I always get so excited the day my Degustabox gets delivered - who doesn't love a box of food arriving at their door once a month?! This months Degustabox has a healthy theme to start off 2016, full of yummy foods and drinks. I was very excited about this months because it mainly features brands that I have never tried so this box is a great introduction.

Tesco 60p Wax Melts

Its no secret how much of a fan I am of the Yankee Candle Wax Tarts and at £1.49 it can end up being expensive when you want multiple scents and have to pay shipping costs (I don't have a Yankee Candle stockist near me). I haven't really tried any wax melts from any other brands so I thought I would give this Tesco Live Wax Melts a try, I thought for 60p it wouldn't be too much of a waste of money if they turned out to be rubbish!

Top 5 Soap & Glory Products

One of my favourite brands, possibly ever, is Soap and Glory. There isn't a product that I have tried that I didn't get on with. Whether its skincare, makeup or body care, Soap and Glory know exactly what they are doing. Even down to the packaging, the products are absolute winners. These five products are my all time favourites from the brand and are ones that I have repurchased over and over and will continue to.

Sample Sized Sunday: Bedhead Resurrection Shampoo & Conditioner

I thought I would start a new series today! On one or two Sunday's out of the month I will be talking about some sample sized products and seeing if they are worth purchasing the full sizes. This week I am chatting about the TIGI Bed Head Urban Antidotes Resurrection Shampoo & Conditioner. I have actually completely used up both products so I can give my full thoughts on them, p.s they are a winning duo!

La Roche Posay Effaclar BB Blur

Finding the perfect base that will give me a medium to full coverage that lasts all day without melting off or making my complexion look oily can be a struggle to find. I also have to use a primer to smooth out my skin tone and blur the appearance of pores. So when I find a product that claims to have everything I want in one, it could be a match made in heaven. La Roche Posay have recently launched the Effaclar BB Blur and I have been absolutely loving it.

Essence Silky Touch Blush in 20 Babydoll

Having never really tried any Essence products until recently I didn't really know why everybody loved them so much. Because the brand doesn't have any fancy packaging I wasn't expecting the products to be as wonderful as they are. I like that the packaging is really simple because it doesn't take anything way from how brilliant this blush is.

How To Ship US Brands to the UK

Whenever I talk about Colourpop in posts or on Twitter, I always get tonnes of questions and DM's about how to get it shipped to the UK. I have mentioned how I get american brands shipped to England but I don't think I went into enough detail. Currently Colourpop do not ship to the UK but I have found a way around that, as well as getting many other brands to the UK. This method would work for brands such as Bath and Body Works, Chapstick, MAC and Tarte just to name a few.

La Roche Posay Serozinc

My skin is very troublesome at the moment, so any products I can find that will help keep my spots away is a rare product to come by. I have tried so many different products that will minimise my spots and one of the only brands that work for me is La Roche Posay. Serozinc is one product that I have heard nothing but good things about so I was excited to put it to the test and see if it is worth all of the hype.

Essence Makeup Haul

I can't believe I haven't tried any of the Essence cosmetics range until a few weeks ago. I won a little giveaway on Twitter with a bundle of Essence goodies and I was so pleasantly surprised at how incredible the quality was so I had to get my hands on some more. I have heard fantastic things but I didn't quite know how good the products were so when I saw bit selection of the Essence range in Wilko I had to pick up some more from Essence.
