I don't have a clue as to why I haven't got my hands on this highlight sooner, I am very disappointed in myself! theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer is massively hyped about in the beauty world and everybody seems to love it, myself now included! My heart may have skipped a beat the first time I swatched this..Mary-Lou, I can never be without you.
This is the highlight of all highlights. Mary-Lou Manizer from theBalm is a honey hued luminizer that will catch everybody's eye when you wear it. It can be used as a cheek highlight, eyeshadow or as an all over face powder for a glowy evening look. If this isn't a shade what would suit your skin tone, the Balm also has Betty-Lou, a bronze version and Cindy-Lou, a pinker version. I have my eyes on Cindy-Lou next! When I think of theBalm, this is the product I think of. The packaging is super cute with a police line up theme. The sleek compact itself has a mirror inside and is a very durable feeling compact so I wouldn't worry too much if I took this travelling or in my handbag. The packaging is made out plastic and houses 8.5g of the powder product inside.
I like to use this mainly on my cheek bones for a glow. What I really like about this highlight is that it isn't glittery, it just adds a gorgeous champagne glow to the cheek bones. I have been applying it with the Zoeva 105 Luxe Highlight Brush and it applies it beautifully. You can either have a subtle glow or go for a very intense glow depending on how much you decide to build it up. I like to go somewhere in-between, sometimes I like to have such a strong highlight that you can see it from space. The powder itself is very soft and smooth while blending out so effortlessly onto the skin. I have even applied this to my cheek bones with my fingers when I have been in a hurry and it still looked great. It doesn't look patchy on the skin either.
This is one of the only highlighters which will actually last for most of the day on my skin. If I have been touching my face throughout the day it will disappear in the early evenings but other than that it will last pretty much all day - very impressive, theBalm! I have pretty pale skin and I love how this looks on me. I am definitely going to try this as a eyeshadow next.
Cindy-Lou...I'm coming for you! The Mary-Lou Manizer retails for £17.50 and is available from Feel Unique - link.
