Essence Silky Touch Blush in 20 Babydoll

Having never really tried any Essence products until recently I didn't really know why everybody loved them so much. Because the brand doesn't have any fancy packaging I wasn't expecting the products to be as wonderful as they are. I like that the packaging is really simple because it doesn't take anything way from how brilliant this blush is.

The Essence Silky Touch Blushes are available in six shades and I have 20 Babydoll. Each of these blushes are described as silky soft blushes for a fresh looking complexion all day long. For just £2.50 each you get 5g of product which is great value for money - I am always looking for good products on a budget. The packaging is very simple and just from looking at it, I wasn't expecting it to be as good quality as it is. The compact is completely clear with silver accents. On the inside of the compact on the outside of the powder, Essence is embossed which is a nice touch. Because the compact is very small it isn't going to take up much room in your makeup bag.

I would describe this shade as a medium pink with a slight touch of peach with a tiny amount of shimmer running throughout the powder blush. I have extremely pale skin and find this blush compliments it beautifully. I was really surprised at how pigmented this blush is and a light hand is definitely needed as well as making sure to tap the excess off the brush. You can either have a light wash of colour to the cheeks, this is how I like to use it, or you can build it up for a stronger cheek. This is one of those blush shades that will go with any makeup look and not have to worry about everything matching.

The blush itself is very soft to the touch and applies smoothly and easy to the cheeks. It doesn't look at all powdery on the skin, it looks very natural. I found this blush to blend out so easily. I am so impressed with how long lasting the blush is, once applied my cheeks have a lovely pink flush to them for the whole day. Once applied at around 7am it is still going strong at 5pm with minimal fading. I am definitely going to pick up the other shades of these blushes soon, I am so impressed!
