I'm very fussy with foundations but these five made the cut! These are the ones that I am always rotating between and just can't get enough of. Some are old holy grails and others are new additions to my makeup collection.
With my skin type, a good foundation is a makeup essential for me. I have quite a bit of discolouration as well as persistent acne and some scarring issues. So I usually like to go for products with at least medium coverage and I don't like to spot conceal so the higher the coverage the better.
The foundation with the highest coverage out of the bunch is the NYX Total Control Drop Foundation. This foundation is one of the few that I have actually repurchased already. This foundation has customisable coverage, I like to use 4-5 drops and I can achieve full coverage without it looking heavy or cakey on the skin. Even though it is such high coverage it looks fairly natural on the skin and because it has a watery consistency it is very lightweight once applied.
The Fenty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Foundation isn't one I would recommend for dry skin but if you have oily skin, I would definitely check this one out! It has really great coverage and because it is such a matte foundation, it is insanely long-wearing. It doesn't feel dry on the skin but if you do have dry skin I think it would be a little uncomfortable to wear and might draw attention to any dry patches. This foundation comes in such a brilliant shade range and more brands need to have shade ranges like Fenty Beauty.
The IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream is a cult classic product and one that I had always heard such amazing things about and it doesn't disappoint. This has really great coverage and feels more like skincare once applied rather than a foundation. I love that it has SPF 50 as I usually wear this in the summertime and it's very comfortable to wear. I like that it has colour correcting properties but it does need to be set with a good powder for my skin type.
The final two foundation favourites of mine are both from Tarte Cosmetics, I am obsessed with the brand at the moment. The Shape Tape Hydrating Foundation is the newest foundation I have added to my collection and I love it! It has good coverage and is the most comfortable foundation I own. It's so lightweight on the skin that it's undetectable! The second is the Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Foundation. This has slightly better coverage than the other Tarte product but it has a matte finish so I do love to wear this one in the warmer weather. It's flawless on the skin and lasts well throughout the day.
