Christmas scents from Yankee Candle are my all time favourite so when I heard about Candy Cane Lane, I knew I had to get my hands on it the second it was released. Candy Cane Lane is one of four new scents released for the festive season, joining Candy Cane Lane is, Icicles, Angel Wings and Christmas Garland, all of which smell incredible and I cannot wait to burn them. Each scent is available in three different types, Jars (Small, Medium and Large), Votive, Tea lights and Wax Tart which I own. I prefer to purchase the tarts because at £1.49 for 8 hours of fragrance and generally they kick off more scent than some jar candles from Yankee Candle.
Candy Cane Lane is a beautiful red colour, very festive and is described as being scented like Peppermint, Sweet Cookies and Vanilla icing. Smelling this in the solid form I can really smell the peppermint and vanilla however when it came to burning it was quite disappointing. As it melted I really didn't notice any scent which I have never experienced with Yankee Candle. What I did find in terms of scent is that it released is it created a very menthol experience, my nose had that cold sensation and if you opened your mouth to talk you could experience it in your mouth too which I did find strange. Family members commented on how the whole house smelt like peppermint and felt like they were in a spa which is a plus!
I am glad I didn't waste £19.99 on the large jar because I would have hated wasting that much candle. I won't be repurchasing this as it wasn't what I expected. I think if I was to mix this with Christmas Cookie I think it would be heavenly. With the scent not being what I expected and not kicking off any scent apart from the minty feel, I wouldn't recommend this one which makes me sad. This is my first disappointing experience with Yankee Candle tarts and maybe I just got a bad tart. Hopefully the other three new scents are was good as the others I have tried, I will report back!
Have you tried Candy Cane Lane? Did you have a difference experience than me?
