When I entered a giveaway to win the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette, I never expected to win but now I am the lucky owner of it! I have never owned any of the Naked palettes apart from the Naked Basics 2 which I didn't really like if I am honest as I prefer warmer toned eyeshadows. I wasn't sure how much use I would get out of this palette but I have used it everyday since it arrived!
The Urban Decay Naked Smokey Palette is the newest launch to the Naked range with a smoky eye theme. I must admit I love the packaging a lot more than the other palettes and I think it is much more durable with it being made of plastic. The palette has 12 eyeshadows which a mixture of mattes, metallic and shimmer/mirco glitter shades. I personally thought that this palette was just going to be a palette to create smoky eyes with and I was completely wrong.
Although there is a good selection of shades to create gorgeous smoky eye looks there is also few shades which are perfect for everyday wear. There is also a great sized mirror inside the palette and a double ended brush which is actually surprisedly decent for it just being popped inside the palette, I think I personally would have preferred an eyeliner through. There is so many looks that you create with this palette from a natural bronze/golden eye to a blue or purple smoky look. Because this palette has such a good mixture of warm and cool toned shadows with different finishes, it makes it a one stop shop for me and one of the better value palettes I have in my collection.
My absolutely favourite shade from the palette is High. It is the prettiest champagne shade with micro glitter which I have worn almost everyday on my lid! Please Urban Decay, sell this individually!! I have been wearing High with Combust and Whiskey mixed together in the crease almost everyday, with Thirteen as a highlight. Another shade I am loving is Smoulder, a deep plum-taupe shade which I have even wearing along my lower lash line and blending out. All of the eyeshadows have great pigmentation and only a few of the shades have a little bit of fall out and blend super easily. I am not the best at applying eyeshadow but I found these shades blended so well that I actually created quite a decent look, I was quite proud of myself!
If you don't own any of the Naked Palettes, I would highly recommend this one, even though at first I wasn't that excited about it when I first saw it was being released but I have fallen in love with it and the fact that there is such a a great mixture of shades and so many different looks you can create.
