I almost never used to moisturise my body (I know its bad!) because I could never find a good moisturiser that would hydrate the skin and not make the skin feel greasy or leave any residue on the skin. I am a very big fan of the Fleur de Figuier scent so I was so happy to get the body balm in one of my favourite all time scents. If this scent isn't your thing then it is also available in Rose and Fleur d'osmanthus.
The Roger and Gallet Precious Restoring Balm in the Fleur de Figuier scent is enriched with shea butter, precious flower oil as well as distilled extracts of fig buds. It claims to be ultra nourishing to help restore and replenish the moisture to the body while adding a light fragrance to the skin. Hyaluronic Acid is known for being great for dehydrated facial skin so Roger and Gallet have included this in their body balms to promote hydration of the body and it also increases the penetration of the other active ingredients. It is ideal for anyone with dry to very dry skin. Each of the body balms are free from parabens, silicone, colour agents and are tested under dermatological supervision.
I really like the packaging, at first I wasn't too sure but having used it for the past few weeks and I have found it really lovely. The top of the tub has a twist off lid which I thought wouldn't close tight enough but it does. The product does arrive sealed with the Roger and Gallet logo even printed onto it which is a great touch. The packaging has a Parisian theme and the packaging is durable yet not too heavy so you could travel with it if you needed too. You get 200ml/6.6 fl oz of product for each of the Body Balms.
The one and only reason I never used to moisture my body regularly is because of the way it would make my skin feel afterwards. Almost every product I used before I started using the body balm would leave my skin feeling so greasy and sticky. But thankfully this body balm feels incredible on the skin and it actually makes me want to use it every single day because of how it feels on the skin. It leaves it feeling so soft and silky smooth without any greasiness and sinks almost instantly to the skin even though it is slightly thicker and very creamy. Another thing I really love about this product is that it does leave a light fragrance to the skin which last for hours, I have been pairing it with my Fleur de Figuier Eau de Parfum and it is like a matched made in heaven!
My skin is very dry, probably because I don't moisturise it as much as I should and the cold weather doesn't help either. For months I have had some extremely dry patches which I couldn't find anything to rehydrate those areas until I started using this! Those patches were gone within just a few days of using the product and have never been softer! Overall I have seen a massive improvement in the hydration and texture of my skin and it has become an essential product as part of my evening routine, and sometimes even inmy morning routine because I love the scent it leaves on the skin! If you are looking for a super hydrating body product - you need to try this.
The Roger and Gallet Body Balm retails for £17 and is available from My Derma-center - link.
