I have fallen completely in love with this limited edition collection from KIKO, just look at that gorgeous packaging for starters! KIKO are an affordable makeup brand which I have tried a couple of things from in the past and I have always been impressed so I couldn't wait to start using the Summer Trend Collection products! The easiest way to buy KIKO products is online but they do have stores around the UK, I spotted one in the Intu Lakeside Shopping Centre if you are Essex based!
The KIKO Trend Collection for Summer is limited edition and is inspired by the passion of travelling. With a selection of gorgeously packaged makeup items with everything from a DD Cream to Lip Oils as well as two fragrances. This collection is exclusively designed by Ross Lovegrove who is known for his futuristic work. I have been testing out a selection of the products from the collection and I have been really impressed, I already have a couple of the other pieces in my basket on the KIKO website! The packaging is absolutely stunning with this collection and is far too pretty to be stored away in a makeup bag or draw. This collection in particular looks very luxury with affordable prices, with gold packaging with textured accents.
The first thing I couldn't wait to put on my face was the Desert Moon Highlighter in 01 Desert Rose. This baked highlight has the different shades of the pearls to give radiance and light to the face. I absolutely love using this as a cheek bone highlighter, when used with a fan brush it adds a gorgeous glow to the cheekbones and I found that the shade of this complimented my light skin tone beautifully. The texture of the pearls once applied to the cheekbones is very light and I found it to be extremely blendable. The Desert Dunes Trio Baked Blush in 03 Impulsive Mauve isn't a shade I would have picked myself but I have been obsessed with this blush and using it every day since it arrived. As this baked blush has three different shades baked into one compact, you can either swirl your brush between all three shades or use each shade individually, I like to swirl my brush between all three for a gorgeous mauve shade to add to my cheeks. This powder feels so lightweight on the cheeks and glides on with ease. This blush is very long lasting on my cheeks, I got at least eight hours of wear before it started to fade which I was happy with. What I really liked about this blush is that it has a very light scent of Vanilla and if you know me, you will know how much I love Vanilla scented everything so this is perfect for me!
Now for the lip products! The first lip product I have from this collection is the Mirage Lip Stylo which available in a tonne of gorgeous shades, the shade I have is 08 Let's Be Cherry which is a bright raspberry pink toned red. The formula is very lightweight on the lips and gives the appearance of a lipstick and gloss on the lips. This shade is very bold which I think will be perfect for the Summer months. This lipstick feels comfortable on the lips, as if it was just a lip balm which I am a huge fan of because I hate being able to feel lipsticks on my lips. The second lip product is one I have been using so much which is the Free Spirit Lips & Cheeks Pencil in 104 Horizon Sangria. As the name would suggest, you can use this on your cheeks as well as the lips but I prefer it as a lip colour. This reminds me of a slightly rosier version of Colourpop Lumiere which is one of my favourite lip shades. This pencil is wooden so I thought it wouldn't be as creamy as it is but it glides on so easily and leaves an intense colour to the lips with a semi matte finish. I really like that KIKO have included a pencil sharpener with this product so you don't have to worry about finding one to fit the pencil.
My favourite product from this collection has to be the Heatwave Lip Oil in 03 Grapefruit. I have been obsessed with Lip Oils recently but I couldn't find any that were less than £20 which is why I love KIKO as this lip oil is only £10.90! It is very nourishing on the lips while leaving a glossy finish. It is enriched with jojoba oil, shea butter, wild mango butter and vitamin E to keep the lips well hydrated. I have the grapefruit one but also available is the Coconut and Vanilla options, you know how much I love Vanilla so thats in my basket too! The main reason why I love this lip oil so much is that it doesn't sink into the lips so quickly that you have to reapply every five minutes but it still hydrates the lips. I have been loving wearing this over matte lips or liquid lipsticks to change up the finish!
The KIKO Trend Summer Collection is available from the KIKO website with prices starting at £8.90 - HERE.
