I have used Maybelline mascara's ever since I can remember, The Rocket Mascara is one of my holy grail products and one that I always go back to and repurchase. The Colossal Big Shot Mascara is one of the brand new launches from Maybelline and I have been loving my lashes whenever I use this!
The packaging is absolutely stunning, who doesn't want a metallic gold mascara with purple accents!? The tube itself is the same style as the other Colossal mascaras as well as the Lash Sensational mascaras. The campaign behind this mascara is 'Lash Like a Boss' and all I can think of whenever I apply this or see it on social media is Sasha Banks who is the Legit Boss, I am sure she would love this mascara too!
I really like the wand of this mascara, it is slightly tapered and has short wavy bristles to cradle and coat the lashes easily. I find it works really well to coat all of the lashes easily and as the bristles aren't super long, you don't end up with mascara on the lid to ruin your eyeshadow. You can really coat the lashes from root to tip with this wand from the first coat I notice, a huge difference in my lashes. The formula of this mascara is perfect too as it isn't too wet and it isn't dry so you can easily apply multiple coats, I usually wear two or three coats depending on how intense and bold I want my lashes to be.
This mascara has been enriched with collagen to deliver bold volume and it is Ophthalmologist tested and is even suitable for contact lens wearers. I love the effect this gives my lashes, it adds so much volume to my lashes while lengthening the lashes and thickening them. I find that it is very easy to build up the lashes and I haven't ever had a problem with it looking clumpy. If I want some length to my lashes, I do like my lashes to be as long as possible, I will sometimes apply a coat of the Lash Sensational over the top of the Big Shot.
My favourite thing about this mascara is that it doesn't fade, smudge or budge throughout the day! I had been having issues with almost all of the mascaras I had been using recently as they would transfer onto the skin above my eyes as well as my under eye area but this doesn't budge! I find it really easy to remove too either with whatever cleanser I am using at the moment or some Micellar Water.
