This month I have so many amazing favourites with some already getting my holy grail approval. I have been obsessed with this products and I would recommend them to anyone! One product in particular, stands out against the rest and I feel like everybody needs one in their makeup bag.
I feel like I have been doing nothing but raving about the Rimmel #Insta Fix & Matte Powder ever since I got it but it really is just that good! This really is like a real life filter for the skin as it will perfect and smooth the skin by minimising the appearance of pores/texture and even though it does have a matte finish, it doesn't look flat on the face and it never looks heavy or powdery on the skin. During the heatwave we had in the UK last week, I didn't wear any base products apart from concealer under the eyes and this powder and it worked wonders! It even smoothed/blurred the appearance of my discolouration. I can't recommend this powder enough.
As it is now officially Summer, it is more important than ever to wear SPF daily. I have been really liking the Ultrasun Face SPF 30 to wear under makeup to make sure my skin is protected. It doesn't interfere with how many makeup applies or wears throughout the day and I haven't had a single issue with my skin burning since I started using it! I do only have a sample size so I will definitely be picking up the full-size version soon.
I have had the L'Oreal Pro Glow Foundation for a couple of months now and this month I have found myself using this foundation every single day. It has a medium coverage with a natural glowy finish, I usually only like matte foundations but it is perfect for the summer time. As my skin has been amazing this month, thanks to a product from The Ordinary, it has the perfect coverage for every day. It is pretty long lasting on me and doesn't cake up on the skin or leave me looking greasy towards the end of the day. This isn't actually available in the UK (I have no idea why as it is so popular in the States) but I pick mine up from eBay - HERE. Speaking of The Ordinary...
The Salicylic Acid 2% from The Ordinary is the best acne/spot treatment I have ever used! I have tried everything you can think of, including being on the pill and using prescribed creams and this was worked wonders for my skin within a matter of weeks! I have only been using this in the evening but you can use it twice a day and within two weeks my skin was completely clear for the first time ever! I am so impressed with this £4 product as not only did it clear my skin but it didn't actually dry out the skin in the slightest. The next battle will be getting rid of my discolouration, you can see my full thoughts on this wonder product - HERE.
Years ago I used to be obsessed with the Soap and Glory Supercat Eyeliner and as my Kat Von D Tattoo Liner had run out, I thought I would give this a go again. I had totally forgotten how good this stuff was and it is such a bargain for just £6! This is intensely black and so easy to apply as it isn't too watery and you can achieve the perfect wing with this eyeliner with no fuss. It is very long lasting once applied and doesn't fade or budge throughout the day.
I have two favourites from Lancome this month and they haven't left my makeup bag since they arrived through my letterbox. The first is one of the new Matte Shakers, I usually hate liquid lipsticks but these have a unique formula that I have fallen in love with. These feel like water as you apply them to the lips and you can't even feel them throughout the wear. They are very long-lasting too and you can check out my full review here. My other favourite from the brand this month is the new Monsieur Big Mascara. This makes my lashes look fluffy and lengthened. It doesn't make my lashes feel heavy or crunchy like some mascaras can do. You can also check out my full review of this product here.
My final favourite this month has been the Avene Skin Recovery Cream. I have actually just finished my tube and already have a new one waiting to be used as I love this stuff so much! I have had some extremely dry patches of skin, it was so uncomfortable and this saved me! Each time I would use this any irritation I was experiencing would disappear and day by day my skin was getting back to its normal state. Within about a week, my skin was completely back to normal!
