Evening Skincare Routine (Acne Prone Skin)

I have finally found the perfect combination of skincare that works for my skin and for the first time since I was 14...I have completely clear skin. Of course, I get the occasional spot but these six products have been life changing as far as skincare is concerned. Evening Skincare Routine

To remove my makeup and cleanse the skin, I have been using the Palmer's Creamy Cleanser & Makeup Remover. This is a great affordable product that does a brilliant job at removing all traces of makeup, it's one of the best products I have used to remove heavy eye makeup. It doesn't irritate my skin in the slightest, I like to apply a 10p size amount to damp skin and then remove with a muslin cloth. If I am not feeling too lazy, I will then do a second cleanse, usually with one of the Soap and Glory Cleansers - Peaches and Clean is my favourite but I just finished my bottle! If you have acne-prone skin like I do, it is important to double cleanse as the first step will remove makeup and some dirt and the second will actually cleanse the skin.

I then like to use a facial spray, this isn't an essential product but I do really like the Mario Badescu Rosewater Facial Spray as a skin refresher. I like to use this throughout the day as well to refresh the skin and add some hydration back into my skin has it can be on the drier side sometimes. Then comes the skincare treatments, both of mine are from The Ordinary and they do have a guide on their website to tell you what order to use their products in. Some of the products from the brand are best used before oils for example, I would have never had a clue about this!

After I have refreshed the skin, I like to use the Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%, this is the newest product in my skincare routine. I have been really enjoying this so far and I have started to notice it to have a smoothing effect on the skin as well as helping with brightness. As I do have acne prone skin, it can be very dull looking so this is doing all the right things so far but I will have a full review in a month or two. The one acne treatment I can count on is The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Solution. I have tried at least 15 acne treatments and this is the best one I have ever used and its only about £4! I have been using this for about two months now and all my acne issues have completely cleared up, no cystic acid, spots or whiteheads to be seen on my skin. I have continued to use this even though my breakouts have now gone and it has started to help with the scarring and discolouration too! I have done a full review of this - HERE.

To hydrate the skin, I have been using the Palmer's Perfecting Facial Oil instead of a moisturising cream most nights but if my skin is feeling drier, I will use a moisturiser as well. This is incredibly hydrating on the skin and even though it is an oil, it doesn't feel greasy on the skin as it sinks in so quickly. This is fantastic for hydrating and nourishing the skin but it has also been helping with my pigmentation and discolouration while being brightening on the skin. This year I knew I wanted to start using an eye cream to start prevention measures rather than have to try and correct in years to come. The Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream isn't heavy on the skin but deeply nourishes the under eye area.

And then I am ready to sleep!
