I loved the One Heck of a Blot Primer from Soap and Glory, I need to repurchase it soon, so I knew I wanted to try out the foundation at some point. I love trying out new foundations but I always forget to look on the high street as I usually struggle with shade ranges but this one is a great match for me at the moment and I have been in love with it!
The Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot Foundation retails for £10 a bottle and is one of my favourite finds from the high street at the moment. I'm not surprised that I love this foundation as I love pretty much everything from Soap and Glory and get so excited by their new launches. This has definitely been designed with oily skin in mind, if you have super dry skin I would give this a miss, as it is so long-lasting on the skin with a matte but not flat finish. This is a liquid to powder foundation which I haven't many foundations like this but it is such a cool concept that actually works!
To apply this foundation I like to use a damp beauty blender, but you can use your fingers or a brush if you prefer and I like to apply it to each section and blend immediately as it does set pretty quickly and you want to make sure you have enough time to get a flawless and even finish. As this is a very full coverage foundation so I like to use one pump of product and then go back into the areas, around the nose and chin etc, that need more coverage for a second layer and I don't have any issues with it looking heavy or cakey at all!
This foundation has amazing coverage without looking heavy on the skin and as it has a liquid to powder formula, you don't even need to set it for it to be long-lasting! I have always used a powder to set my foundation and this is the only foundation I have tried that actually sets on its own. It covers my redness, discolouration and acne with ease and never have to worry about it wearing off throughout the day. Besides trying to cover by acne and discolouration, one of my biggest issues with my skin is my pores. They are on the larger side and I have always had to use a pore filler primer before applying any foundation to achieve smooth skin. This foundation claimed to help blur away the appearance of pores so I tried it without any primer and I was shocked at how smooth my skin looked! It doesn't settle into my pores even after hours of wear, I couldn't actually believe it!
With almost all liquid foundations I have used, they settle into my smile lines and around the nose and this is the only foundation I have used that doesn't... no matter how long I have been wearing it! I would usually need to blot away any excess oil after a few hours of wear and I can go 12 full hours without needing to touch up at all! The only downside I have found to this foundation is that it is only available in four shades, I am currently using Cool Sand which is the second lightest shade in the shade. I know Fair Enough will be perfect come to Winter so if you have fairer skin, these foundations are a good match.
