I love trying out new makeup, it's one of my favourite parts of getting ready in the morning! I have been testing out a few new products recently so I thought I would share my first impressions on them before I do in-depth reviews on most of them as my opinions often change the longer I have used a product. So far I have been really impressed with a few and one product I am just not so sure about yet.
I have been wanting to try out The Ordinary Colours Coverage Foundation ever since it came out but it was so high in demand that I have only just got my hands on it! I have been a big fan of The Ordinary so far (would you like a brand focus? let me know!) so I had high hopes for this foundation. As I do have acne prone skin with a lot of discolouration, I love a full coverage and so far this foundation is incredible stuff! It feels very lightweight on the skin and it does have great coverage without looking cakey in the slightest. It isn't quite as long wearing as I would like but I need to try it out with a few different primers to see how they can transform the wear time.
I have the worst brows ever and the Maybelline Brow Tattoo sounded like something I had to try! This reminds me of a couple of Korean products I have seen online, I have tried the peel off lip tints but never anything for my brows. I was a little worried that it was going to pull out my brow hairs but I hadn't had a single issue and it really does work! If you are looking for something to tint your brows for a couple of days, this is definitely something to give a try! It does take some getting used to when applying it the first time as it can be a little messy.
Urban Decay just launched the Troublemaker Mascara and so far I am a little on the fence about it. I honestly can't tell if I like it or not just yet but I think it might be due to the fact that the brush is so different than what I have been using for the last couple of months. I'm going to carry on using this for the next week or so and see how I get on with it. One thing I do really like about it so far is how long wearing it is and that it doesn't transfer or flake off throughout the day. The packaging is absolutely gorgeous, I love the oil-slick colours, I have never seen a mascara with as good packaging as this one!
I have also been trying out The Ordinary High-Adhesive Silicone Primer and I was quite surprised the first time I used it as I was expecting it to be a little bit like Benefit's POREfessional but it is very smoothing on the skin and I love how much easier my foundation applies when I use this. My skin has been quite oily recently so I like that this has been helping to keep my skin looking mattified throughout the day. I have used it with a couple of my foundations so far and it hasn't failed me yet!
The final product I have been testing out is one of the Make Up For Ever Aqua Liners. I have been using a dark brown shade, this isn't something I would usually go for but I like that it isn't as intense as some of my black liquid eyeliners. It applies really easily and dries down quickly. It's super long-wearing too, I have been caught out in the rain a few times walking home from work and it doesn't budge! If this is as good as I think it is so far, I am going to be needing to get a few more shades!
