The Best Ways to Make a Complaint

I have had to make quite a few complaints this year and I'm going to share some of the best tips to get them made effectively. Whether you're going to be writing a complaint or doing it over the phone or online, hopefully, these tips will be able to help you!
When you're trying to make a complaint, my best advice is to stay as calm as possible. It isn't the fault of the person on the other end of the phone that caused your problem so don't take it out on them. Make sure that you have all of the information ready and on hand that you need so you can get it resolved as quickly as possible. It's also important to think about what you want to get out of your complaint, whether it's a refunded or a replacement for example. I recently had to make a complaint against my phone provider as they were charging me for services that I couldn't use as my new phone hadn't been delivered yet and they quickly issued a cheque for the inconvenience as I knew that I wanted to be refunded.

A resource that I found out about recently is Head Office Finder, it makes your life so much easier when trying to make a complaint! This website has all the information you need when making a complaint from head office phone numbers and addresses for many UK and international companies. They have done the research that will not only save you time but it will also save you ending up with a big phone bill at the end of the month! Some of the numbers that you usually have to ring to try and make a complaint can be ridiculously expensive.

If you aren't getting anywhere over the phone, by letter or by email then I would definitely recommend taking to social media. I have had to do this quite a few times with massive companies and my issue have always been resolved extremely quickly. Twitter is the best platform to do this in my experience. But it's also important to shout about the good experiences you have with companies online too.
