Spice Up Your Life

Growing up in the '90s and early 2000s was the best time to grow up, everybody knows this! We had all the best things to obsess over from Tamagotchi's, The Powerpuff Girls and Gameboy's to puffy headbands with our names on in glitter glue and Polly Pockets! I found some of mine recently and I couldn't believe how tiny they really are. But when I really think of the 90's, the Spice Girls were IT and always the first thing in mind!
I was a huge fan of the Spice Girls growing up, I loved everything about them so to see them reunite again in 2019, it was the best news! I wish I had tickets to their tour as I never got to see them originally. They are currently on a huge stadium tour which will be finishing in the UK on the 15th of June at Wembley Stadium. To coincide with the Spice World reunion tour, the Spice Girls are setting out to reward their Best Ever Fan with Walkers. You can see the brand new advert - HERE or you can watch it above.

They made a huge impact on me growing up and to this day, they still do. They were unapologetically themselves and all about girl power! I read a book recently all about the Spice Girls and their influence, What Would the Spice Girls Do? by Lauren Bravo, and it made me realise how influential they were on me without even noticing. These women definitely helped make me who I am today.

Their songs were and still are, iconic. Wannabe, Stop and Spice Up Your Life will always be my favourite three, you can never be sad listening to these songs. They always make me want to get up and dance and I'm always adding them to my Spotify playlists. My sister is ten years younger than me and had no idea who the Spice Girls were until recently and now she loves Wannabe! I think everybody knows when Wannabe is playing with 1.5 seconds, it features one of the best and most classic laughs.

I loved the group's fashion, everybody had a unique style that was perfect to them and gave everybody someone to relate to. I always wanted to be Baby Spice growing up, I'm sure I was her for a couple of Halloween's and dress up parties but now I am all about Sporty Spice. I remember having quite a few items of their merch and I always wanted a pair of those platform shoes they would always wear so well.

The Spice World film was all I would watch for weeks when I finally got that VHS. I remember rewinding almost immediately after I had watched it just so I could watch it again.  Between the Mary-Kate and Ashley movies and this, I think it was all I would watch. I feel sorry for my parents because I would watch them over and over again.

What's your favourite thing about the Spice Girls? Will you be going to see them on tour?
