I had seen so much hype surrounding this book that I had to give in and buy it! I am so glad that I did, I never usually give in to the hype, usually, it will make me want to not read it but I adored this book so much. I cried while reading it which hasn't happened in years.
Red, White & Royal Blue - Casey McQuiston Book Review
Blurb

What happens when America's First Son falls in love with the Prince of Wales?
When his mother became President, Alex Claremont-Diaz was promptly cast as the American equivalent of a young royal. Handsome, charismatic, genius--his image is pure millennial-marketing gold for the White House. There's only one problem: Alex has a beef with the actual prince, Henry, across the pond. And when the tabloids get hold of a photo involving an Alex-Henry altercation, U.S./British relations take a turn for the worse.
Heads of family, state, and other handlers devise a plan for damage control: staging a truce between the two rivals. What at first begins as a fake, Instragramable friendship grows deeper, and more dangerous, than either Alex or Henry could have imagined. Soon Alex finds himself hurtling into a secret romance with a surprisingly unstuffy Henry that could derail the campaign and upend two nations and begs the question: Can love save the world after all? Where do we find the courage, and the power, to be the people we are meant to be? And how can we learn to let our true colors shine through? Casey McQuiston's Red, White & Royal Blue proves: true love isn't always diplomatic.
My Review
This is the first queer romance book I have read and I loved it, it won't be my last! This book has great representation as it features bisexual, gay and briefly a trans character and I think this is fantastic as we need more books like this. I read a tonne of reviews on this book and every review I watched or read said the rep was great. I loved the way this was written, it had me laughing out loud from the first chapter and it's quite witty throughout! If you've read Christina Lauren books before, this book has a similar vibe to it which I was obsessed with.

I loved every character in this book but hands down Henry was my favourite, how adorable is he! His and Alex's relationship was cute and hella sexy at times, I couldn't get enough of it. This book had everything I was looking for from steamy moments to cute ones and chapters that made me get really emotional. Even though this book is Alex and Henry's story, I was obsessed with all the side characters. Nora is incredible, I need more of her! I rarely cry when reading but this book made me so emotional, I actually cried towards the end. I could not put this book down, I find third-person books to take me longer to read and I still managed to finish this within 24 hours!

This book has a heavy political storyline that is something I had never read before but enjoyed. I was obsessed with the fact that Alex's mum was the first female President, if only that had happened in 2016. I also really liked the royal aspect to it, even though almost all of the royal characters apart from Henry and Bea weren't the nicest. I was not a fan of The Queen in this book, I really hope that our Lizzie isn't like this behind closed doors. I loved the British things in this book from the nods to This Morning and ending text messages with an 'x'. I really don't want to spoil this at all because everybody needs to read this book but that first kiss - O M G!
I laughed, I cried, I swooned. Add this book to your basket immediately, this book got 5 stars from me and I can't wait to read it again soon. It is definitely one of my favourite books in 2019. This book was phenomenal and I can't believe it was Casey's first book, I can't wait to read what she writes next.
