Updating the Home for Autumn

- This post contains an AD -

Even though we are currently having some crazy hot weather in the UK again, I can't help but get Autumn ready. I am so ready to switch up my wardrobe as well as my home so I thought I would share a few of the updates I am hoping to make to my home in the next couple of months.
I love unique lighting and I obsessed with the look of this LED Shelf Lighting, I haven't seen anything like these. My house is always so dark and I'm not a fan of overhead lighting as it always ends up being too harsh but this looks like a great way to light up the kitchen a little more while also being a decorative accent due to the lighting element. They offer a few different shelf options and I love how they look, it would be so cute to have a few cookbooks on the shelf or a couple of succulents.

Switching up your homeware doesn't have to cost a fortune, I love upcycling things around my house. My desk is starting to look a little worse for wear so I'm thinking of buying some sticky back plastic, you can buy all different colours and patterns, my normal background for flatlays is this and it only cost £6 for a huge roll! If you are bored with your pine or wood furniture and a fancy something a little lighter, you could always sand it down and repaint it white or grey. We did this with a couple of bookcases and cabinets and they look great!

One thing I love doing every season is adding seasonal touches to the home, especially my bedroom. For summer I had all things light colours and bright but for Autumn I am going for more neutral tones and cosy vibes. I've bought some new super soft blankets and pillows which have already made a huge difference and I can't wait to get some new bedding soon. ASDA has the nicest homeware section and everything is always well priced.

Are you making any home updates this autumn?
