Lip balms have been one of my favourite things to buy ever since I was a kid shopping at Claire's. One brand that I have always wanted to try is Fresh and when I saw this adorable Christmas gift set, I knew I had to pick it up and see what all the fuss was about!
The Fresh Minty Magic Gift Set (£16) comes with two mini size lip balms that have been massively raved about over the years. I have always heard that these are the best lip balms and I do love them! Even though these are mini sizes at 2.2g each, you do actually get quite a lot of product and it's a great way to try them out before buying at full-size at around £20 each. I love the festive packaging, it has a ribbon on the top so you could hang it on the tree as a hidden gift!
The two lip balms included in the gift set are the Sugar Lip Treatment Advanced Therapy as well as the Sugar Mint Rush Freshening Lip Treatment. The first is an ultra-nourishing lip balm that has been proven to significantly boost moisture, enhance volume and improve the definition of the lip area. It has been formulated with antioxidant-rich orange extract that will help protect and sea fennel helps to smooth fine lines and wrinkles. The second lip balm has been formulated with a duo of time-release technologies that will initiate a minty, tingling sensation and menthyl PCA imparts lasting freshness and moisture. It has been enriched with meadowfoam, black currant seed and grapeseed oils to give high hydration from the first swipe across the lips.
My first impression about these balms was good as I loved the packaging as soon as I opened the box. I love that these have a twisting cap rather a push closure like traditional lip products. The tubes even though they are mini sizes have a great weight to them and feel luxe. They are extremely hydrating which is great as we head into winter and they provide long-lasting hydration benefits. The Sugar Mint Rush Freshening Lip Treatment is definitely my favourite out of the two, I love the scent and the tingly feeling it gives the lips! It also makes the lips feel cool.
These balms make a great base for matte products and they are fairly long-lasting too. They are extremely comfortable and lightweight to wear. I will definitely be picking up a full-size when I finish them both. I believe they also do tinted versions that I have to get my hands on!
