My Best Friend's Royal Wedding - Romy Sommer | Spoiler Free Book Review

- arc provided via Netgalley -

Rom-coms and royal romances are some of my favourite things to read and this cute cover pulled me in! If you need something light to read, definitely add this to your TBR! I will definitely be reading more from this author now.
Blurb

Cocktail waitress Khara Thomas never expected to trade the dazzling lights of Vegas for European aristocracy but as maid of honour in the royal wedding of the decade she’s forced into an unexpected spotlight when her best friend marries a prince.
Luckily for Khara, gorgeous but infuriating best man Adam Hatton is happy to show her the ropes. Khara knows Adam’s entitled rich guy type but as their connection grows she realises there’s more to this playboy than meets the eye. And when she learns his royal secret? She might just find that fairytales do come true…
My Review

This was a completely different take on a royal romance and I enjoyed it. Adam was quite unlikeable at the beginning of the book and I liked that Khara called him out and was brutally honest. She was a bit judgemental at times and Adam did come across as entitled but he was aware of that. But I did understand their chemistry.

Even with this being a romance, the other aspects to the plot like the wedding and the events surrounding that are really entertaining. If you liked American Royals, you’d probably enjoy this. It has less drama than American Royals but more romance. I think this would make a great movie, the places in this book are so vivid! There are a few cheesy parts but if you like Hallmark movies and rom-coms, you'll really enjoy this.

Even though this is a standalone book, there are books set in the same world and there’s one with Phoenix and Max’s story. I think if I had read that first, it would have boosted my reading experience so that’s definitely something to keep in mind! I felt a little disconnected from two these characters and they are important to the plot.

My Best Friend's Royal Wedding is out on the 29th of January 2020 - HERE
