Today is my date for the Little Friends blog tour and I can't wait to tell you all about this book. 2020 is the year I am reading outside of my comfort zone and this book definitely fits the bill! Every time I do this I end up finding new genres and books that I love and I can't recommend it enough.
Blurb
Their children are friends first. They hit it off immediately, as kids do. And so the parents are forced to get to know each other. Three wildly different couples. Three marriages, floundering.
There are barbecues, dinner parties, a holiday in Greece. An affair begins, resentments flare, and despite it all the three women become closer.
Unnoticed their children run wild. The couples are so busy watching each other that they forget to watch their children. Until tragedy strikes.
Because while they have been looking the other way, evil has crept into their safe little world and every parent's biggest nightmare is about to come true...
My Review
I never read books like this, it's psychological suspense, and now I'm questioning it because I really enjoyed reading this. I didn't read too much of the blurb before going into it as I always find I enjoy books more this way. Especially with thrillers, it's best to go in with knowing as little as possible so you won't be getting any specifics from me! This book is written from three perspectives, Eve, Melissa and Grace, and is well-paced and easy to keep up with after a few chapters as there are a lot of characters. The only thing I can tell you without giving anything away is that the adults get so wrapped in themselves that they take their eyes off what their children are up to.
I loved the writing and how vivid it was, this is the first book I have read from Jane and it won't be the last. I couldn't put the book down, I was completely absorbed in it with it being unsettling I was really surprised about this. It's a dark read but well done and if you need something to read in the next couple of weeks, definitely check this out!
