Take a Hint, Dani Brown - Talia Hibbert | Spoiler Free Book Review

I read Get a Life, Chloe Brown a few weeks ago and I fell in love with it and Talia Hibbert's writing. This is the second book in series following Chloe's sister Dani and I cannot say enough good things about this book. If you are a rom-com lover like me, this is a must-read this summer.
Take a Hint, Dani Brown - Talia Hibbert
Blurb

''Danika Brown knows what she wants: professional success, academic renown and an occasional roll in the hay to relive all that career-driven tension. But romance? Been there, done that, burned the T-shirt. So Dani asks the universe for the perfect friend-with-benefits...

When brooding security guard Zafir Ansari rescues her from a workplace fire drill gone wrong, it's an obvious sign: PhD student Dani and ex-rugby player Zaf are destined to sleep together. But before she can explain that fact, a video of the heroic rescue goes viral. Now half the internet is shipping #DrRugbae - and Zaf is begging Dani to play along.

Dani's plan is simple: fake a relationship in public, seduce Zaf behind the scenes. But grumpy Zaf is secretly a romantic - and he's determined to corrupt Dani's stone-cold realism. With every fake date and midnight meeting, Dani's easy lay becomes more complex than her thesis. Has her wish backfired?

Or is the universe waiting for her to take a hint?''

My Review

Where do I start? This book had 101 one things I loved about it and nothing that I disliked. But one of the main things I love about this book is the writing. I have fallen in love with the way Talia writes and I cannot wait to read her backlist, she has this magical way of writing. I felt every single thing the characters did and it's really special. Talia has quickly become one of my favourite authors. I was laughing out loud within two chapters!

Dani and Zafir are two of my favourite characters I have read about so far this year. Especially, Zaf! He is my new favourite book boyfriend! He is all kinds of adorable and swoon-worthy and I loved the way his anxiety is handed in this book. The representation of anxiety in this book is brilliant and I loved reading about it as it is something I have experienced for the last ten years.

I loved Dani's personal development throughout the book, you get to see Dani learn and realise that she does deserve love, happiness and joy. She is also bisexual and I liked that representation. I was rooting for Zaf and Dani the whole way through and I couldn't put the book down, I actually read it as soon as it was delivered and read it in one sitting. Where can I get a Zafir?! Their relationship is easily one of the best ones I have ever read. Fake dating is one of my favourite tropes but the way this one was done was incredible!

You don't need to read Chloe's book to be able to read this as they are standalone but I would recommend reading Chloe's first as it enhances the book. I loved the ending and the epilogue was fantastic! I can't wait for Eve's book to come out next year.
