My Caroline Hirons Inspired Skincare Routine

Whenever I need skincare advice, I head to Caroline Hirons. I have been following her for years now and her blog is one I always go back to. So when she released her book, I couldn't wait to listen to it and it was a complete game-changer when it comes to skincare.  I had acne-prone skin throughout my teens and early twenties, I also have combination skin. So my skincare routine is a little more detailed than others. I don't have acne so much any more but I do get hormonal breakouts and the occasional cystic acne breakout so I like to keep my routine fairly consistent. I wanted to share my evening skincare routine as that is when I take care of my skin the most.

Makeup removal and first cleanse

I have been really liking the Emma Hardie Moringa Light Cleansing Gel. I apply this into dry skin with a tiny drop of water to remove makeup and remove with a hand hot wet flannel.

Second cleanse

Recently I have been using the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser, I'm obsessed with the stuff and gone through quite a few bottles! Or I will use the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser if my skin is feeling a little dry that day.

Acids and toning

I love acids, I can't get enough of them. I have been rotating between three and I like to use each a couple of times a week. I have been switching between The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc, Pixi Glow Tonic and the Pixi Clarity Tonic. I usally apply these to the skin when it is still a little damp from cleansing.

Hydrating Mist

This is my favourite and most extra step but one that I enjoy the most. I have been switching between three mists, the La Roche Posay Serozinc, Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic and the Glossier Soothing Face Mist.

Serums

I have been using two serums recently as I know that they are going to expire soon and I hate wasting skincare. The Glossier Super Glow and the Bioderma Hydrabio Serum are my go-to products. I also use the Glossier one in my morning skincare routine. I will then apply my RapidLash and RapidBrow.

Moisturisers and Oils

My final step is to hydrate! I have been using the IT Cosmetics Confidence in Your Beauty Sleep and loving it, I am just about to finish my jar. But if my skin needs extra hydration I will skip apply any serums and apply some Rosehip Oil. This is also help with any breakouts!
