Recent Reads #20: What I Read For the Reading Rush

This was my second year taking part in the reading rush readathon and I think it is going to be my last. There are some things handled in a way that I cannot support and I hope that the creators behind the readathon do better next year. But I still wanted to share what I read this year for it because I read some incredible books!
Let It Go - Jen Calonita

I am the biggest fan of Frozen and this is book is one of the twisted tales retellings. This book is about if Elsa and Anna never found out about each other and their journey to knowing each other and it was fantastic and I gave it five stars! I actually listened to the scores from Frozen 1 & 2 and it really enhanced the reading experience. If you love Frozen, you will love this book!

I Feel Bad About My Neck - Nora Ephron

I went into this book not thinking it would be life-changing but every woman on Earth needs this book in their life. This is a book that I know I will come back to as I get older and it really impacted me. Nora Ephron wrote some of the most popular rom-com movies and as a rom-com queen, I adore her work.

That Second Chance - Meghan Quinn

I read this book for the fourth time in nine months and I'm not even sorry about it! I love Meghan Quinn and if you have been reading my blog for awhile now you will know how absolutely obsessed I am with her. This is one of my all-time favourite books so I knew I wanted to read it again as it is such a comfort and it makes me infinitely happy.

Sex and Vanity - Kevin Kwan

The Crazy Rich Asians movie is one of my all-time favourites so I was really excited for a new book from Kevin Kwan. But I was a little disappointed by this if I am being honest. I talked about this book in detail here but it was still a three star read so it wasn't bad by any means!

There's Something About Sweetie - Sandhya Menon

Every now and again I will read a young adult book that has me falling in love with this age group of books all over again. And this is one of those books. This book was so adorable and pure and I cannot recommend it enough! This was definitely one of the best books I have read so far this year. This book has brilliant fat representation in it as well which needs to be in more YA and adult books.

10 Things I Hate About Pinky - Sandhya Menon

While I didn't love this book as much as Sweetie's, I still gave it four stars. I really like Sandhya's writing style and I can't wait for her adult romance release in 2021! I don't want to say too much about this book in this post as I did review it last week and you can check that post out here
