Today is my stop on the #BecomingMila blog tour and I am so excited to share my review of Estelle's latest release. I have read every single one of Estelle's books and I think I have reviewed all of them too! Becoming Mila is the first book in a brand new trilogy and if you love young adult books with a little romance, I can't recommend this enough. Becoming Mila - Estelle Maskame | Spoiler Free Book ReviewBlurb

Meet Mila. Sixteen years old, an ordinary LA girl . . . except for her A-list actor dad. With his next big movie premiere on the horizon, the media spotlight is intense – and when Mila’s antics make headlines, something must be done.

Exit Mila. Dispatched to small-town Tennessee to cool off. It’s summer, she’s off-grid in the middle of nowhere, but Mila’s no sooner arrived than she falls out – in spectacular style – with local mayor’s son, Blake.

Blake knows just how to rattle Mila. He also knows just how she feels. He gets the drama, the dynamics, the tricky parents. Perhaps they have far more in common than either of them cares to admit.

Set in Los Angeles and Nashville over a long hot summer, Becoming Mila shimmers with friendship, family frictions and romance. It’s the first book in an exhilarating new trilogy from Estelle Maskame.

My Review

The first book in Estelle's brand new trilogy follows Mila after she has essentially been sent away to Nashville to stay out of the spotlight and spend some time with some family...where she meets Blake. Without giving any spoilers away, we follow Mila has she reconnects with family and friends from when she was six years old and along the way she learns some family secrets. I loved the chapters with Mila and her aunt and grandfather, you can tell family means a lot to her. I really liked how she is the daughter of a celebrity and how it was handled in the book as it seems like something that would definitely happen.

This book has set up the trilogy perfectly and it does end on a cliffhanger and I already need the second (and third) in my life, November can't come soon enough! Estelle's writing always hooks me straight in and I was immersed in Nashville. I flew through the book and read it in one sitting and that's when I know it's a five star read!

This is the perfect summer read and I really liked Mila and seeing her growth, she learns to stand up for herself and it was wonderful to see. I found Mila really easy to like and I loved the little glimpses of romance we get with her and Blake. Mila and Blake clash quite a bit in the beginning but I really enjoyed watching their relationship grow into more, I need the next book already.

Becoming Mila is out now in ebook and paperback! You can get your own copy here
