Shadow Switch Dry Brush Cleaner

When I am doing my eye make up one of my main struggles is dirty brushes. It is so annoying when you've used a dark shade of shadow on a brush and then go to use it light shade and you can't use the brush which is where this product comes in. I can't believe I didn't get my hands on this sooner as it is a makeup lifesaver!

Shadow Switch Dry Brush Cleaner Review
Shadow Switch from Beauty Essentials is a completely dry product which will remove almost all traces of makeup powder from the brush allowing you to be able to use your brush straight away after cleaning no matter what shade you decide to use next! I really like that this is dry because it is such a pain when you wash your brushes and then need to use them and you can't because they are wet. While this will remove the traces of shadow from your brush, it is still important to wash your brushes regularly to remove every single trace and keep them clean from bacteria.

To use the Shadow Switch all you have to do is press your brush into the pad inside the pot and swirl your brush in a circular motion to remove the product - it's that easy! This is a great product if you are a makeup artist to switch out your colours on the go or even if you just like makeup like I do. Once you have used your Shadow Switch multiple times, to remove the shadow from the sponge inside the pot all you need to do is use some warm water and (fragrance free) soap and leave until it is completely dry before using again. It is recommended to replace your Shadow Switch every two months and at £5.99 it's not going to break the bank to replace.

I have been so surprised at how well this actually works! It does a fantastic job at removing almost all traces of shadow from my brushes. It works much better with strictly powder eyeshadows, with my colourpop shadows it still removes around 70% of the product from the brush but with powder it is more like 95%! I don't own many eyeshadow brushes so I used to struggle to do my eye makeup when using a range of shadows because I just didn't have enough brushes to use one for each shade but now I don't have to worry because I have shadow switch! This would be great for travelling or holidays as it has no liquid it isn't going to leak in your luggage and you can still keep your eye brushes clean on the go.

The Shadow Switch retails for the bargain price of £5.99 on Amazon - HERE.

  1. Ah thanks for sharing this, I was going to get the other expensive brand but when others said it was similar material to the hair donut, that put me off. I'm going to order this now xo

  6. I feel like this is something I 100% need because like you I hate having dirty eyeshadow brushes! But yet I hate carrying them off to the bathroom to wash them and let them dry, but you could keep this near your brush pot and use it straight away. Fabulous mon petit pois xx
