I love trying out new primers and when I saw that Soap and Glory had released one I was so excited. The One Heck of a Blot Primer is Soap and Glory's first primer and they knew exactly what they were doing! There isn't too many primers on the high street that are actually good in my opinion but this one is wonderful.
The Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot can be used as a primer applying before foundation, alone or use it throughout the day for touch ups - I have been using it as a primer before foundation and I have been loving the results. This primer aims to absorb oil and control shine throughout the day as well as making pores look smaller and leaving your skin smooth. It is also suitable for all skin types, I have sensitive skin and haven't had any issues with it irritating my skin.
I have been applying this primer everyday before my foundation, I have tried it under three different foundations with each having a different finish and level of coverage and I have been really enjoying how well this works. I take a small amount, around a pea size and pat it into my skin and then follow up with my selected foundation.
I have tried some very expensive primers but this one is by far my favourite. It doesn't have that silicone feel like some high street primers have but leaves the skin feeling so smooth. I have quite a bit of discolouration and redness and some foundations struggle to cover it but this has really helped level out my skin tone and even it out. I absolutely hate my pores and some foundations really don't help cover them but this primer makes them look so much smaller and my foundation glides over them and my skin looks almost flawless - who doesn't want flawless looking skin!
The first time I used this primer I was so incredibly impressed with how well it made my foundation last! The first day I used this I went out all day and decided not to take any concealer or powder with me to see how well it works and after 7 hours my skin still looked matte and as if I had just applied it! I love the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation but it used to only last for around 4 hours on my skin before it would completely disappear but when I wear it with this primer it lasts until the end of the day, I have tried to use this foundation with a number of different primers but none of the other ones really made a difference. No matter what foundation I use this primer makes it last until I remove it while keeping my skin skin and oil free - I cannot recommend this enough if you have oily skin because it has worked wonders for me!
The Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot Primer retails for £10 and is available at Boots
