As of the past couple of weeks, my skin has been having one of the biggest freak outs I have had since my acne days. So it was time to strip back on everything I was using and figure out which products were causing the tens of breakouts and blemishes. As it turns out, one of the main reasons for my break outs was actually my toothpaste of all things and this serum has really helped get my skin back on track.
I have said multiple times over the past year or so that Avene are one of my go-to skincare brands as my skin loves the products and I always get incredible results from them. Two years ago I actually used a serum from Avene which is now known as the Hydrance Optimale Hydrating Serum and it was honestly the best product I had ever used. I had had a bad reaction to an eye cream which caused the skin around my eyes to actually flake off and within three days of using that serum my skin was back to its normal state! So I was very excited to remind myself of why I loved that serum so much and have it back in my everyday skincare routine.
This serum is ideal for sensitive skin or skin that is easily affected my stress, pollution or irritation, as I previously mentioned my skin does get irritated every now and again and is on the sensitive side. It has a high concentration of Avene Thermal Spring Water and this serum works to hydrate and calm the skin with every single application. It also has Glycerine which provides deep nourishment and hydration and adds comfort to the complexion. This serum can be used both morning and evening followed by your choice of moisturiser.
I have been using this every morning in place of my moisturiser and on some evenings with my Vichy Sleep Balm. I find that this works so well in the morning before apply my Too Faced Born This Way Foundation as it is one of the only hydrating products that I have that doesn't change the way that the foundation applies or how it sits on the skin and wears throughout the day. It is incredibly hydrating on the skin and any dry patches have quickly cleared up. I like how light weight this feels on the skin and that it doesn't leave behind any residue and sinks in within a couple of seconds leaving the skin soft and hydrated.
The Avene Hydrance Optimale Hydrating Serum retails for £17 and is available - HERE.
